I just stumbled on some used parts that include dsmlink, fmic with short piping, fpr and maft blow through. will i need the translator if i have dsm link. what other support mods are needed. injectors, fuel pump?

You will need the translator. Injectors and fuel pump are good also, but not needed at this point (as far as I know). But in order to run the GM MAF, you must have a translator.

Don't do any tuning with the translator. Just put all settings at 0 and do the tuning with DSM Link.

Yep yep as he said, dont tune with translator. If I was you I would think of buying a
2gmaf because its way easier to tune.(our ecu's like to know the intake temp and compensates for temp change. The gm maf has no such sensor and it will confuse the ecu and your A/F ratio may change when air temp changes. My mechanic finds himself retuning everyday to find that sweet spot on the A/F ratio.

It should actually be 2, 0, 0, 0. If you leave everything at zero, you'll be setting the translator for 430cc injectors.

Thanks allot. Turns out the deal went sour and no more dsmlink. how much will dsm link be new for everything. should i just tune with the translator and count my losses.

i think its just stock. i have no idea what this means what is the eprom ecu. what is socketed or a keydriver or all that stuff what does it do. what are eprom chips what do they do?

Only problem with the GM MAFT is when you have the DSMLINK running, you need to Caliberate it because if you don't, your airflow numbers will be really off. Get some kind of bar sensor (GM).

Dont you say what airflow sensor your going to use when you buy dsm link so it all works out or is this false

That only works with stuff like 1g, 1g hacked, 2g. Link does not let you select a 3" GM MAF. Those just set a base for proper and accurate tuning. Calibrating the MAF with a bar sensor will do the same thing.
