As tax return is coming up, I was planning on spending a peice of that money on an epprom DSM Link. I have a 1990 eagle talon with a big evo 3 sitting at 8 lbs, intercooler, 3 inch piping intake and exhast. I have 750cc injecters and wally 255 waiting to be put in and then sitting around 20lbs boost hopefully. I know there is different stages of eproms and i was curious what you all thing would be best for my set up? Other then whats mentioned, the only other upgrades im interested in would be a set of cams and a ported head. I'm still in school and mostly use it for cruising around, but still want the ability to eat the odd 5L stang and what not.

DSMLink (or ECMLink) is a specific replacement software package for a EPROM (or converted) ECU that replaces the factory software and adds some additional hardware to the ECU (RAM and NVROM).

There are also modified versions of the factory code out there that people sell as replacement EPROMS or use a EPROM emulator like the Moats Ostrich.

When it comes for features and product support nothing beats DSMLink.

Yes, I guess that is part of the issue im having, there are many different kinds of eproms, and i was just curious for some feedback what some dsmers think would be right for me, or what they had good luck with.

What you're thinking of in the "stages" are just the chips, rather than dsmlink which is how you tune it. Basically if you're getting dsmlink "stages" are irrelevant. Chips are burned and sent to you, rather than link which you can tune with your computer anytime. If you don't understand what I just said PM me and I'll dig into it a little deeper.

Just want to note the HUGE difference here between the two... and glad steve made a note.

I see time and time again people refer to V3 ECMlink as "Dsmlink" and it's a pet peave of mine...

The functionality of the two are light years from each other.

Their is a good reason Tom and Dave renamed it and it's not Dsmlink V3 :)

Take note OP of the New application design

I have seen the software and it looks like a great way to tune. V3 light or V3 full would probably work well

I love it so far but ive got a ways to go since i just got my tsi on the road, so far great and learning to take advantage of its many features, including speed density.
