I've been out of DSM's for a little over a year now but I will be buying another 1g soon. My question is who is using DSMLink in their 1g and how is it working out? This wasn't around in my former DSM days but I really like the looks of the program and what not.
How big of injectors, etc. will this support. I'm looking to use the FP3052 or something similar and wondering if I will be able to max it out without going to a stand alone system.

Sorry if this has been discussed before I searched for a bit but couldn't find much about this.

Thanks
Dan

It works flawlessly and controls most brands of injectors up to 1600cc. There are people making over 700whp with Dsmlink, I don't think you'll need to go standalone with a FP3052 and supporting mods. It's very easy to use and future versions are going to have a lot more features.

Thanks for the reply, looks like I will be going with DSMLink when the time comes. Is it necassary to run a MAF-T or AFC with DSMLink then? What kind of intake can I run with it, just a hard pipe or do I need something else, sorry guys I'm lost since the last time I was into DSM's a VPC seemed like the best option combined with a AFC. I think an all out FP3052 setup or FP Green will be pretty sick on a 1g AWD.

Thanks
Dan

I wouldn't run the MAF-T, it can be troublesome to tune and it's not neccesary unless you are maxing out a 2g or Evo maf sensor. You can use pretty much any stock MAF sensor: 1g, 2g, 3g, or Evo. The 2g would probably suit your needs. You can use any intake pipe that will attach to your turbo and the maf sensor you are using.

I used the FP intake when I had a 2g maf sensor and Dsmlink: http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...P&Product_Code=FPAIP&Category_Code=DSM-Intake

That's a nice intake but I don't think it will work.

Quote from FP website:

"This pipe can also be used for 1G applications where no MAF or MAS is used, instead simply fit the 4" diameter air filter directly to the air tube inlet. Unfortunately there is not enough room between the turbo and the fenderwell in the 1G to fit a MAS and a filter, so no soup for guys without VPC or stand alone."

Am I interpreting this correct?

Thanks
Dan

The FP pipe will "work", but it looks a bit cramped and you'll have to find a small filter. Dejon makes a variety of pipes that might work better for a 1G. And no, you don't need an AFC. Kinda the whole point of DSMlink is gaining actual control over your airflow, fuel, & timing tables instead of tricking the ECU with external devices. Make sure you recirc. your BOV if you're using a draw-thru MAF.

So is there a benefit of upgrading to the 2g mas? What is my best choice performance wise for an intake?

You'll max out the 1g sensor pretty quick with a 3052, but you can try it and see how far it takes you before you upgrade.
