DSM GSX oil pressure switch......comes on when accelerating then goes away

Hey guys.

My oil pressure switch or sensor is faulty I think,

Thing is Ive only owned the car a week and 2 days, I dont know where to start.

The oil can light comes on when accelerating, extremely dim, then goes away.

What can cause this, Ive read that a bd ground can do itbut im not sure whereto start diagnosing. Ive tried searching but dont know where to look. Can somebody show me pictures?

IIRC oil pressure switch should be on your oil filter housing they do go bad from all the gunk and stuff that gets embedded in there

Check under drivers side front of engine you should see it...

yeah that switch, i saw it the wire is wiggling and whole wire is covered with oil.

What should I do? take it out and clean everything/ reassemble?

are the symptoms ive given signs of a bad switch or something worse?

did I mention that the stock oil pressure guage is always showing low pressure? like 1/4 when I get on it and 1/8 when idling?

motor was compression tested 175lbs across all four and head was rebuilt in last year. Oil all over the wires came from a leaky valve cover gasket.

I also seem to have 1/2 a quart too much oil.

Take some brake clean to it that will take the oil and stuff right off what i would do is soak it down with brake clean then get hit it with some compressed air to clean it up check the wires make sure they are getting a good connection if that persist replace it I am not sure if you can clean those or not not sure if it will even help to clean the actual switch

Did you check your oil level? maybe the oil isnt reaching the siphon tube in the oil pan under acceleration causing a drop in oil pressure.
