So I drove the my car from where it was stored to my house about 2 miles away. The car ran kind of ****ty besides idle for the most part. I finally got a timing light and now my base timing is 5* BTDC. I don't understand why its running and driving so bad. The battery voltage dips a lot especially when it stalls. Heres a log. :barf:

Try a quick tune up; new fuel, plugs, plug wires and be sure your hydraulic tensioner hasn't become stuck in one spot. Did you prime the engine before initially starting the engine?

I'm with leepen. Did you at least put some dry gas in the tank? Does the battery hold charge when you shut it off and start it back up? I can't open your log to see voltage that's why I'm asking.

How much old gas was in the tank? If not much add at least 5 gallons of fresh fuel and see what happens. I bet that's your main problem. If the tank is pretty full of the old gas you may need to drain it out of the tank first.

After letting the gas sit in the tank over winter alone, when I drained it a week ago it was practically milky in colour at the bottom -- the bit that gets used first.. I can't imagine another 18 months on top of that.

I drained the old gas down to nothing. Then I did add about 5 gallons of new 93 octane before i drove it. Its not the first time i've had the car running. I ran it a few times through the winter. The battery will hold a 11.7 charge with the car off. It idles at 13.5, the idle was actually pretty nice after messing with it for a bit first. All timing matches up, i know the car isnt cruise tuned yet but i still dont understand how it could want to run bad while trying and stall when I let off the gas to slow down. At idle the wideband looks pretty good. I do have a leaking valve cover gasket and my catch can isn't recirculated yet but i'm not sure those little things could affect it that bad. Besides that everything else is tight and seems ok. theres always something with this car ha, previous owner did a terrible job keeping it in good shape. And it sucks cause i just got it back on the road the other day and todays my birthday and i just want to drive my car .

P.s I just posted the log I ment to upload:coy:
