Driveshaft Play Normal??

I recently had the transfer case replaced under the recall for the 3rd time and on the way home i heard some metal on metal grinding noises. jacked up the car and look under, noticed that the rear support bearing assembly had a loose bolt so i could move the driveshaft up and down about 2 inches and also the center part of the driveshaft that connects to the lobro joint moves in and out about 3 inches. is this normal ### it scares the shit out of me and leads me to believe this is why i have had 3 transfer cases. let me know. Thanks.

Bet you have bad "U" joints in those axles..Shouldn't be that much play.

agreed, how are the rubber bushings inside the mounts looking? if they're disintegrated/crumbling you'll want to replace them. it's only like 90-100 i *think*.

you'll want to invest that money rather than having a misaligned drivetrain.

i was just reinstalling my driveshaft yesterday and went back twice to make sure it looked as straight as possible
