My question is, are all 1G drive shafts interchangeable?

Do 1G transfer cases all have the same output spline count to the drive shaft making the driveshafts universal?

Lastly, the four bolts that hold the driveshaft to the rear diff, is that mounting also the same?

I have a 92 GSX with a horrible shaft and a 91 GSX with a better one. If it comes down to it I'll try fitting them together but I'd rather not waste the effort if someone can give me some solid info on this subject. Thanks.

Driveshafts are interchangeable, and all bolt the same (for the 1G's). Though, it sounds like you are putting off the inevitable. At least rebuild the one you take off so it is ready.

sounds simple enough. thanks for the info.

now i know cv axles are not driveshafts but are the front axles interchangeable from a 91 trans to a 92. i forget the spline count but they were both different. would this affect the cv axles from being interchanged in any way or is the spline count just for the t-case and rear diff ratios?
