Yes, I searched.

I am trying to figure out what axles I can use in my 95 TSi 5 speed. What axles are interchangeable with a 95 TSi between the generations, years, transmission type, drivetrain, etc.

I am looking to change my right front (passenger) axle.

After my answer is solved, I would like to discuss all year DSM's. Maybe we can put together a descent write up.

Need all kinds of info. Spline count, shaft length, shaft thickness, etc.

The axles do not interchange much with each other. Awd is different on both sides from fwd, auto is different from manual, 1g and 2g do not interchange, abs or non abs. Basically if you have a 2g, fwd, manual trans with abs, you'll need an axle from the same car.

2gs ABS and Non ABS axles are the same (AWD 5 Speed), the only difference is the abs O ring, which you can remove or install on all the axles.

If you buy a new axle, it will come with the abs O ring, If you don't have abs, then just remove the O ring from the axle and you are set.

95 to 99 AWD 5 speed are the same.

Thank you. So this would mean that the 95-99 FWD's would be the same?

Also, my friend and I just put a 2G tranny in his 1G (5 Speed). The axles from my 2G would not go into his 2G tranny. But, his 1G axles did go in. Can anyone tell me why?

Does anyone know the specs on axles for my 93 1g n/t 2.0? Don't want to order the wrong ones. Thanks

dont need the specs... just order the one for your car. LOL

This. You don't really need to worry ABS/nonABS.

Passenger side:
2g AWD M/T, A/T are the same.

Driver side
(outer portion that attaches to inner carrier bearing portion):
1g AWD M/T and 2g AWD M/T, A/T are the same (1g AWD A/T might be same also, but not sure).

No FWD axle interchangeable with AWD axle.
