Quick question to all, the perevious owner of my car(AWD :laser:) had a t3 setup. the turbo went out a couple weeks ago. so i bought a used 16g turbo, mani, and o2 housing. the down pipe flange thats on the car now is to big for the o2 housing. here are some pics,

The question is, will the stock AWD down pipe fit the 16g o2 housing? need all the help i can get thanks.

Looks like you have a 3" DP. You should be able to bolt your 2.5"o2 to the 3" DP because the bolt holes are oblonged. I have a 3" DP bolted to a 2.5" o2 in my car.

yeah it does, i just noticed that. LOL when i bought the car, the guy gave me another down pipe but its still the 3in. flange. mite be able to do something with it. ill post a pic of it soon.

Is it on a hanger? Maybe you can get rid of the hanger and push it up more? It would be supported by the cat and o2.

Not sure if that would help. But when I put in my catback I had to make my own hangers and I made them so it sat "UP" more. YOu can probably cut the flange of the dp and weld a pipe on and then weld the flange on to fit. Or im sure a shop can do it. But like some people I dont want others working on my car LOL.

yeah bro im the same way unless its over my head. LOL i think that will be the best way to go. i was just looking at punishment racing and they have a good selection on flanges and stainless steel bends. neighbor has a mig i could use too. it will be more fun that way:D ill keep ya'll posted on the work i do for it again you all have bin a great help.! thanks if anyone has any other idea's feel free to post them.

I did exactly what jpmxrider489 suggested. I removed my down pipe cut the flange off it with a sawzall ### i dont have a band saw. Took the down pipe and new flange to my local exhaust shop. Got it all welded up and it cost me $30.

so all your saying is to get one 2.5 in. flange and hack off the 3 in. flange thats on the dp already.:hmm: wouldnt that be hard to weld the excess gaps between the flange and the 3 inch pipe? what would i use to fill the excess gaps?

Here are the pics of the other down pipe i have to work with. Thinking about practicing my welds and cuts on this one, so i can get it right the first time on the one thats on my car now.:hellyeah:

Cut a piece of pipe to fit the gap. Have that welded in.

Right, but if you look at the pics when trying to line the o2 to the dp, its off to the right like an inch or more. The pipe would have to be kinked to fit it right.

If you wanted to try just cutting and welding, cut the downpipe a little bit after the flex section, where it's still parallel to the ground. Then you can twist it at this point so that the end is pointing towards the o2 housing. Then you can cut the flange, and weld in some pipe and get the flange how you need it.

i found an o2 housing at Megen racing that is an oem bolt up to mitsu turbos. i havnt bought it yet but. i think that will be the best bet. i wouldn't feel comfortable welding that, im out of practice. The RRE down pipe i almost bought. untill i found this o2 housing. it would be nice to find the same o2 housing with a 3in flange instead of the 2.5in. but im sure i can make it work.
