I just bought the punishment racing downpipe for my 97 eclipse gsx I was wondering if anyone else has it installed? What o2 housing do you have? The website says that it won't fit the stock o2 housing. Also I have the stock catback for now does that bolt on? 3" to 2.25" is a big difference so please let me know.

I was able to barely get my SRS catback to mate up with the stock cat...and the SRS (3") has a neckdown at that junction. I'm gonna make an educated guess and say you aren't going to be able to mate the downpipe and the stock catback.

I'm also going to guess that you're gonna need a Punishment Racing O2 housing.

I've got one in a 1g but pretty much the same situation. I have a punishment o2 housing but it's only 2.5" flange same as stock. The way I get it to work is get a 2.75" gasket that way there's enough overlap on each flange to seal. Not sure about the stock cat back working.

I just installed this a couple of days ago. It will fit on a stock 2g o2 sensor housing with some modifications. My exhaust man had to clearance the pipe so the two bolts could even fit on the studs. Also, he had to elongate both holes in the downpipe flange. After that, he had no problem bolting it to the o2 housing using the stock gasket.

On a side note, any competent exhaust shop can make a neck down from 3" to 2.5". I did something a little different to eliminate the cat but he still had to make a section of pipe that necked down from 3" to 2.5" which then bolted to the stock flange with a 2.25" diameter.

I have a PR downpipe, and although I have a GS-T, I can say that you'll have to make modifications if you want to use your stock o2 housing, not worth it in my opinion since the stock o2 housing is smaller in diameter than the downpipe. I went with a Megan Racing o2 housing, and bought a R&D catback, which had to be modified as well to make the flange that connects to the downpipe 3".. I'm not sure what other cheaper catbacks are there out there for you to use momentarily, maybe you can find some chinese one on eBay, although i would recommend you just saving up, getting all the right exhaust components, so you can install everything all at once, thats what i did.. getting another catback for the time being would be spending money more money than you need to spend.
