door panel screws won't tighten

What do you guys use to fix those pesky interior trim panels that have those self tapping screws that just won't tighten? I have 4 metal screws on my door panel that don't stay tight. I heard someone say to use Loctite® Threadlocker Blue 242.

I do a simpler trick: I use 1-1/2" drywall screws and make my own new holes right next to the existing ones to secure down a door panel when those holes where the self tapping screws don't bite anymore... Goop will not hold anything no matter what - you gotta go new.

Use black drywall screws so it will hide better.

Try using a slightly larger and less corse thread screw.

Or, you can see if you can flatten the holes in the door. This will make them smaller and allow the original screws to work. But, the easiest would be as mentioned above. 1-1.5" drywall screws FTW. They are the duct-tape of fasteners.
