Buying new wheels/tires for 92 Tsi AWD. Looking at 17 x 8 wheels (available offsets are +33 mm, +38 mm, +43 mm). Tire size would be 235/45/R17. Guy at the shop thats ordering them said the correct offset would be +33 mm. He insists this will fit will no rubbing/clearance issues & that they cant mount them if the wheels protrude from the fender.
Have gone to the site to compare this tire size to stock - that looks fine. And have read about offset - bigger/wider wheel needs to move further away from suspension. Looking through old posts I havent really seen anyone who says theyre using this much offset with this size wheel. And what about if the car was lowered ~ 1 in.? Something doesnt seem right to me...
