I'm in need here. I ordered one already but it doesn't fit. It is longer than the one I removed and the carrier bearing bolt holes do not line up. Here is a few pics. Sorry about the quality (cell phone). One side reads "C24" and the other reads "390" or 39O". This is off my 95 5sp. awd tsi. As you can see, the end is all chewed up and my axle won't seat properly. If anyone knows the correct part #, please help. I need to get this as fast as possible(this car is my DD for at least another 3 weeks.). Thanks

No, that is just the shaft.

Keep in mind the shaft and the bearing are two different parts. You can see what I mean in this thread.

Thanks. I have the same problem that is in post #14.

I've read that thread and a few others. Both that I have, have the same carrier bearing but the shafts are different lengths. The new one I just got is too long. The one pictured is shorter and the one that I need. Also, how would I get the old carrier bearing off and pressed back onto the new one.

Have you checked out posts 14 and on in that thread, and possibly compared numbers from the shafts you have to the ones posted? That may help identify what you have.

Sorry, just edited my last post. Anyways, what I got from that is the replacement I got may be from an auto. This could be why it is longer, possibly?

Does anyone know where to get the proper shaft with a carrier bearing?

Problem solved. Picked up a brand used one today. Car is back on the road and running smoothly. I should have taken some picks. Oh well.
