Dodge Mod BOV...sounds different than my Stock crushed BOV

Bought a Dodge Modded BOV and installed it. I now hear a quick woosh whereas before I never heard anything ever with the stock one whether it was crushed or uncrushed....does that mean something is wrong?

I've never done the dodge mod to any of my 1g bov's, but i can say the reason they sound relatively low, even when vented, is, to start off, they have a small mouth passage in which the air escapes.

As for the bov sounding louder after the dodge mod, i assume it will sound louder after a certain amount of boost, causing more air to be expelled due to the fact of the diaphragm holding the boost solid instead of leaking it as they usually would even crushed after a certain boost level.

I have a very loud wastegate dump...before I could never hear the BOV...now I hear it.

Any ideas on this one. The car just feels very "jerky" now when I go slight throttle and let off in 5th gear.

The modded BOV sounds "louder" because the chamber that recirculates the compressed air is now vented. If you look at the BOV from the flange, you should see a tiny set screw blocking a small passage. This is the chamber that is now vented to the atmosphere causing a louder "blow-off".

Thank you...here is a dumb one but I will just ask. Isn't any sort of "venting" to the atmosphere bad for performance?

...or is it not that type of venting?

The venting i was referring to has nothing to do with recirculating the BOV. Not recirculating the BOV will cause performance issues unless you have a GM MAF. The "vented" chamber allows the BOV to build higher boost without leaking.
