I did a search and did not really find what I was searching for. My stock bov is leaking at around 16 psi, so I am considering the dodge garage mod. Those of you running your bov with the dodge garage mod on it, would I be ok putting a set screw in the bottom hole and just drilling the hole and leaving it at that, or do I NEED to put that brake line tube in there? I mean its open to the atmosphere anyway, so I figured just leaving the hole open would act the same.

Yes,I don't see why it wouldn't work the same with out the brake line tube. You only need it for the fast release feature. I did it like they said except in not using the fast release feature anyways, but I guess it their if I want to try it later.

I'm not getting any surge under normal driving as far as I can tell. Should I look out for it? Or is it something that probably not happening if im not felling it/ hearing it.

We are talking about something that happens in the time period between the throttle butterfly closing and the BOV opening. What/how much do you expect to notice/feel/hear?

Once the throttle is closed the air in your intake hits the butterfly and bounces back down the UICP. You want the BOV to open and release the pressure before the wave reaches the blades of the compressor and slams into them.

Some people never notice the problem until after the turbo is beat to death

Well I hear it opening just like it was previously before i did the dodge mod except now it doesnt have that slow woosh sound, its just a fast and sometimes more fluttery sound. IF i do something abnormal like run it up to 15psi in second gear and just let off the gas without pushing in the clutch, It feels like it "bogs" a little if you will....its kinda hard to describe I guess.(it still opens obviously as I can still hear it plain as day) But during normal driving the BOV seems to be opening when its suppose to and letting out a good amount of air.

If you're not running fairly high boost, you'll probably get compressor surge without the lower vac line in place.

Back from the dead. The link to the quick release setup is not valid anymore. Anybody know a goo way to hook up the quick release?

look into the dejon powerhouse leak stop kit it allows the BOV to use both features of the garage mod. bellow 15psi it allows the quick release and above it allows the high boost application. I have personally used this setup and was able to hold 30 psi with no leaks from the BOV. and it comes with everything needed to mod the BOV

I currently have that kit bench testing it is promissing. it works like an electronic solenoide, once air pressure overcomes the spring tension it switches the port to vent to atmosphere. I think a better way would to use the ecu to control a bcs, thats eventually what i would like to accomplish
