hey guys this is kind of a dumb question but do the hatchback rear quarter panels fit the spyder? I have a pretty mean dent on the drivers side and i can only find hatchback quarter panels, thanks! :D

I believe they are the same. If push comes to shove, you can just cut out the section of the panel you need and weld that it.

There a expensive panel to replace. Unless you can do it yourself. You would have to pay someone to fix it. They would have to cut the old one off and match it up. When I was getting estimates back when I had mine done, I was looking at around 1600 to fix it. It was pretty bad. You can either mud it or do it right.

I remember reading somewhere that the quarter panels do not match on the top section. They can probably be made to fit, but I say go with the panels from an actual spyder for proper fitment.

They are definitely not the same. The coupe has a hatch, the spyder has a trunk. The area around where the roof attaches is quite a bit different also.

Not trying to say your wrong but I don't see how there different. The corner window is different but would that make it different?

If you had both cars sitting in front of you than you would see it. Look at the top of the quarter where the trim is attached.

Damn thanks guys, i think im just going to end up cutting out the dented part and welding a new one in. The panels cost about $500 online from the OEM sites and i just dont have the money right now, but cutting out that section from an eclipse from the junk yard should work. I havent found any 2g spyders at the junkyards ive went to /:

How bad is the dent? You would be surprised what a good body can do. Post a pic of the dent.

Its pretty bad, i bought the car as it is with the dent. Ill get a pic up in the afternoon, cant right now im on my cell LOL

alright there it is, sorry its kinda dark, that pic is from when i got the car, my step dad started trying to get it out and made it look even worse, but oh well

That could be straightened out pretty good. I would just call around to different body shops. If your dad hadn't messed with it than you possibly could of gotten away with paintless dent repair. They can do some amazing things. You will spend way more finding a quarter and paying someone to install it.
