Anybody have experice with this kit? There arent any oil leaks from what i can see but I would to know that all gaskets are new.

Im also missing the nut from the oil pump gear

This includes:

Balance Shaft Bearing
Engine Kit Gasket Set
Cylinder Head Plug
Crankshaft Main Bearing
Oil Pump
Piston
Piston Ring
Connecting Rod Bearing
Timing Belt
Balance Shaft Belt
Thrust Washer

other issues:

No coolant to the oil cooler should I buy oil and trans cooler new (moshimoto)

the Fuel signal to the FPR is off. Should I buy whole new fuel pressure regulator?

Needs to replace/Repair

Brake/Wheel Hub : Wheel Bearing & Hub Assembly from rockauto

Brake/Wheel Hub : Parking Brake Hardware Kit

Brake/Wheel Hub : Parking Brake Cable

I didn't run the kit, but the pistons were decent.

Not sure if you're saying you already purchased the kit or are thinking about it?

Everyone here will tell you to go OEM with the seals. Its not a bad idea.

Assuming you have stock turbo, you can get away without running an oil cooler. But, it's a good upgrade. About to do mine soon.

Get a new FPR. They are easy to swap.

None of the above has been purchased just yet...I would like to go OEM but from what i see these are complete kits..any links would be great...

Im doing this build as a fun project car 400whp at best for now before ugrading internals.

I've used the Rockauto dnj engine rebuild kits for customers but never on a dsm. They are good quality but I'm not sure how that stacks up to a turbo'd car. I personally would do all oem which I'm actually doing right now to a 7bolt! Parts can be found easy from STM, jnz, Mitsubishiparts.com, extremepsi, and other vendors on this site. Just call them up and tell them you need a rebuild kit see if they can put it together for ya!

thank for that:thumb::thumb:

I know this is a very old thread but.....I just bought a dnj head gasket and dnj oil pump kit. Didn't know if anyone got any info on dnj. As in how bad or good they are. I bought the dnj because of price and I got it the same day. Usually has to be ordered at all other part stores...so I'm going to be putting these gaskets on a stock build turbo cams ecu etc...14lbs of boost at max. 7bolt head on a 46k 6bolt block..just figured I'd share my experience with anybody that may end up using these gaskets.....Happy Dsm-ing to all!

For a stock rebuild I would use it, no first hand experience here but 2 of my friends used rock auto kit for their daily drivers.

Most go for the OE or Fel-pro head gasket.

Pull the oil pump apart and inspect it.

Also make sure you ream the head bolt holes out on the 7 bolt head so the larger 6 bolt studs/bolts will fit.

I've used DNJ parts on my truck, mainly used for getting stuff for the house and towing. I have never used them for my M3 or DSM. For critical parts like the oil pump, I would rather have peace of mind rather than a worry if the aftermarket pump will fail. I did have a topline pump fail and take out my motor many years ago. Since then, it has been OEM oil pump. I am the same with the gaskets, you can order them individually, will be cheaper than buying a whole set that come with stuff you may not need.
