420A discontinued inlet pipe

above part number sprung a leak on me. this is a metal pipe on the cooling system i think it goes to the waterpump. my car is in the shop and my mechanic is telling me it is discontinued. also telling me that no yards have it. seems odd since i am in houston texas (pretty big city, we have a few yards) but ok.

does anyone make this aftermarket? can i reliably have the pipe repaired? i dont feel great about jb weld, but maybe an actual weld...im still worried about it springing more leaks. maybe have it chromed? would that work? .

help is greatly appreciated!!! im a delivery driver and need my car back running asap so i can earn money!

That's from mitsubishiparts.com (Korum Mitusbishi in WA) for the part # you listed. I don't know where your mechanic is trying to get parts from but he didn't try a dealership at all?

Just because they list a part doesn't mean they have it in stock. They may not be aware it's discontinued.

They're usually pretty good about that kind of thing as it's a dealership. They most likely won't have it on hand but their database is tied in with Japan for overseas availability. May not apply to a mopar part but it's worth a phone call. Plus it's a water line for a 13 year old product and even Christ!ler makes replacement parts for 15 years.

On a side note the O.P. if he had to, could probably cobble together a line using high pressure/temp hose to replace the leaking section if the end fittings are still good. If they aren't then he'll have to obtain them somehow (I don't know a thing about 420a's except they were in 2g NT's and neons) and fabricate as best he can. Gates makes a good hose and should be readily available in most brick and mortar autoparts stores like NAPA.
