Disconnecting Factory Horn alarm?!

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Ive got a factory alarm and an aftermarket.. pretty annoying. My girlfriend, with good intensions, locked my car using the power lock in the door. When I went to leave for work, the damn horn starts going off. I just disconnected the battery, re-connected it, and drove off.. some alarm...

The trick is not to use the power locks.. just the remote or your key.

i know this thread is old but i did find a way to disable the factory alarm
1-under the dash on the drivers side if you look on the wiring harness there is a ORANGE diod...pull the diod out like in picture.
2-also remove the relay as mentioned above..
Ive been attacking this for days..i almost fried my aftermarket alarm..
good luck

If I lock the driver side door manualy when I get out. When I use the key to unlock the door, HONK, HONK, HONK! If I run to the trunk, stick the key in and pop the trunk. It shuts off the alarm. I can do it in under three honks usually :)

i had this exact same problem ended up being my door ajar switch they are about $8 a peice at local parts store that fixed my issue

I am tired of sifting through hundreds of OE alarm disable threads. I know defiant (I think)thinks you can just yank a fuse and be done with it, well not in the case of my 95 talon. I have pulled every fuse in the top row of the kick panel and to no avail. I will figure this out on my own as I have exhausted this website of all possible problems. I will update everyone when I figure it out. If anyone has any useful information that would be apreciated but no side comments as I don't need to add to the list of cluttered useless threads.

I have the wiring from the Mitsubishi Medic, and I need to find these wires, I will try and take pics, but the relay panel (white plastic under above the fuse box inside) I am missing the relay as I hoped that would solve it. I need to find these wires, and one question, would grounding all of them be a voltage leak? obviously the brn/black is already grounded, but would I ground green/white to disarm the alarm permanantly?

Thank you thus far.

On my earlier model 2g (Nov 04) I had no relay to up above the fuse box in the kick panel as the Mitsubishi Medic says (I will load those documents as soon as I can) I did pull the fuse in the fuse box and this only allows the alarm to go off when the battery is reconnected. The ignition cutoff no longer persists, and starting the car will force the alarm to stop. The horn part is no longer connected.
