Dimming Gauge lights

I just found out yesterday that when i turn the light dimming knob it also dims my autometer gauges i thought that was pretty neat for those of you who like the "sleeper" look and might not want a car next to you to see the gauges lit up or anything , I hooked mine into my AshTray light ( since i dont use the ashtray ) and now i can dim them just though Id let you guy know.

I know on the 1Gs there is take out the ashtray and you will see it.

I saw the ashtray light once when I took off my console.. it's never worked, so I was surprised to see it there.

Question about the light dimming knob. When you crank the lights up all the way and then turn it a little more, it clicks like it is supposed to turn on an interior light. Mine does nothing, but I am guessing that feature is only for the Spyders?

YEa mine clicks but does nothing also ? so i have no clue i just turn it all the way up right before the click and leave it there.

i think the click just means its all the way on

yea, the click is all the way on, supposed to "lock" the lights on.

this is also how vfaq says to wire up your boost gauge...i cant belive you guys didnt know that! damn, well be carefull and dont ground it wrong or else your burn up the dimmer switch like i did and you'll have to hard wire them on.
