DIFFERENCE OF SHORT/LONG BLOCK?

SORRY WHEN I SEE THEM FOR SALE IM NOT SURE WHAT IS WHAT??

SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME.

Long block usually includes everything, head, intake, etc. Short block is only the items blow the head. Usually doesn't include any accessories either. Power steering, alternator, etc.

So long block is complete motor oh ok makes sense thanks

Depending on the seller sometimes long block only includes block, crank, bearings, rods, pistons, head, valves, and springs. Basically the entire rotating assembly and head. Some don't even include the oil pan or valve cover so make sure of what your buying.

Short block - no head - no bolt on's oil pan maybe.

long block usually consists of head, block and oil pan. Valve cover sometimes included sometime not - ask the seller. Manifolds, intake and exhaust, alternators, Ps anything that bolts on not included.
If you are looking on Ebay they sometimes sell whole engines. What is included is up to the seller.

Long block is almost a crate engine with out harness, intake and exhaust manifold, and accessories.
Short block is basically block, rod, crank, and pistons. all assembled.
