well seems everyone on here likes the resistance test for the TPS adjustment. Not to sure why though. In hynes they tell you to un plug the tps, then hook up jumper wires from the conector to the TPS, then put your volt meter on certian pins in the TPS. And my method is just like hynes, but with out the jumper wires. Just leave the TPS pluged in, find the correct wires/terminals, and then get some T pins and carfully backprobe them (slide the T pin down into the terminal from the back of the connector right next to where the wire goes in). then connect your volt meter to that and adjust for .48-.52 volts closed and then you should see around 5 at WOT.

I just adjust it so that it says 10% on the logger.

Keep in mind that the idle switch needs to be adjusted FIRST, before you do this.

yeah i dont have a logger yet, but that works as well. That way you can actualy varify that the computer is seeing the right input. BUT just becasue it sees 10% does not meen that its adjusted properly. The lower half of the potentiometer in the TPS could be screwed up and you could get 10% where its supposed to be 20, 30, 40%. Personaly id check the actual componet as well. To pin it out and take a voltage reading take all but 1 min to do.

If you have 10% at idle and it increases linerarily as you apply throttle, then the TPS is ok.

agreed.

The Apex SAFC also provides a voltage readout for the TPS. It can be found in the "etc" menu, then go to sensor check. It gives you digital accuracy to three decimal places. Everyone has an SAFC, right?
