Didnt make surgery deadline.

Well the car is essentially done. I didnt make my deadline due to certain vendors not shipping when they say they will and saying they have things in stock when they really dont. Im not gonna name anyone tho. Ill be taking a break from the car so that I can heal up from shoulder surgery so unless a friend from work comes over and hookes me up this will be the last progress update for a while.

All I need now is fluids, down pipe installed and a battery and the car can be ran. Im going to upgrade to ECM3 while im healing rather than tune with V2 then retune V3. Ill probably order a few little things that will make the engine bay a little cleaner looking. Maybe paint some more components. Just little details. Here are some pics of the car in its 99% finished state.

It looks great. You have a great car on your hands. Just need to keep it out of others hands. It tends to leave your pockets empty more often. You would know this more than anyone after this experience.

This car was done all by me except the machine work and assembly of the long block. I hand picked every part and piece in this build. I imagine that this would cost me 10k more if I had paid someone else to do all the work.

Got some good news today. A friend of mine who wanted to help with the build but couldnt because he was moving into his new house called me. He says he will be here Friday to finish putting my car together for me. Awsome!

What's up TennGSX? I just moved to Pa. after my tour in Kuwait. I am going to get your old GSX and put a used Talon motor in it. I bought an engine for $800 and a manual tranny and GSX suspension front and rear for $500. I also bought a damaged 2G for parts and got a garage for $150 a month with power and lights. I will try to keep you updated on what is done. I also bought a 97 GSX while back on leave to go with the 95. I hope your build continues and you get back on your feet again. GIAMMOJOE!

Glad you made it back ok. I don't know if I would convert the car to manual tho. There are so many drag racers looking for ann auto car that you might be better served by selling it and getting a manual shell to put all your stuff into. Just food for thought.

Got her started finally. Had an oil pressure issue but got that resolved after 24 hours of stressing out.

Ill be tuning it myself with some help from the guys on the link forums. it will be a conservative tune on lower boost at first. Ill slowly tweak it for max torque. Im not exactly gunning for max hp but I will eventually like to see how much she can do.

Ill be dialing in the idle tune tonight and once that is done ill change the oil, and the car will sit on stands till my shoulder is healed up enough to drive safely.
