Did I waste my time porting my 02 housing on my T25? I took out the step on the manifold as well as slightly clean out the runners. I bored the 02 housing very well. My car is sitting on blocks now, but I was wondering. How much horsepower can the T25 push? I will have every mod done to the car possible: safc, downpipe, test pipe, catback, starion fmic with hardpipes, mbc, bov, ect. ect. The only things I don't have are bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and datalogger. I have not tuned it with the safc yet. Thanks.

[Title finished.]

On the T-2small yes, but when you upgrade then no. After you get a bigger fuel pump and injectors, plan on getting a bigger turbo, and you might need a bigger front mount. Go to dsmtimes.com? .org? and look up the fastest T-25 time. Its not that quick.

i think the t25 has made a little more than 260 whp @ 18-19psi, something to that tune.

your mods at 14 psi of boost probably wont put down more than 230, but i'm just bench guessing so who knows.

to answer your question, anything ported out more is gonna be better for performance. it's just the amount of performance is the question. and the answer to your little t25 is negligible. BUT, the potential between a ported 16G/50trim vs. a nonported is much greater :thumb:

230 you say? That's not too terribly bad. I am also in the process of deleting weight. I suppose a car that weighs around 2850 pounds and throws down about 230 isn't going to be too slow. My mustang makes 230 to the wheels and isn't slow by any means. ;)

it's well know a t25 can only boost 16 psi without blowing hot air, and it drops off at ~5.5k, but there was a DSMer that dynoed at 16 psi, 18 psi, and then 21 psi [ or roughly those numbers ] and his dyno numbers proved that the t25 WILL put more power out at higher boost.

how long that little turbo will last at such pressure.. who knows

i just looked at the dsmtimes.ogr and the fastest 1/4 time i say with a t25 was in the 12 second range. but i wouldnt look for a time much faster then that

I dynoed 185 AWHP on a mustang at 13 psi. Then I turned it up to 19 psi and made 200 AWHP ... I trapped a best speed of 98.95 mph in the 1/4.

So yes the T25 can make decent power ...but for how long at those shaft speeds.

LarryD is the guy you are refering too.

I boosted 19psi for quite some time with no problems. Stock fuel system aswell.

After 4 months I swapped to my current turbo and sold the T25 to a honda guy. It was strong and had only normal play side to side and NO in and out.

sense porting is basicly a free mod and the stuff you ported will be able to be used on other turbos...i dont think it was a waste at all.

Mine did for 2 weeks. Then it blew up.

spoken like a tru dsmer LOL

porting everything else is great and will help when u get a newer turbo but the t25 is already doing its max once u get that intake & filter on along with the bcs restricter out

18psi is good for every once in a while not everyday driving
15 psi should hold you providing you have all the supporting mods along with all restrictions out till you get a better turbo
