did 14b install but 1 problem

ok this weekend me and my bud did the 14b swap on my 2g talon.. Everything went as good as its gonna go on the install..The 14b is rebuilt with no shaft play..I took it for a spin and when i give it boost in 1st and 2nd gear the turbo makes this ungodly Screaming noise.. But then after i put it in 3rd gear and boost it it goes away... Then after that it doesnt do it anymore. It only does it before 3rd gear.. but then after i boost it in 3rd then go back to 2nd gear it doesnt do it... You get it??? i hope im not being to confusing...please help me.. id hate to ruin somethin...Thank you

Oh and by the way my MBC is set at 15lbs
 
Hey guys, i wanted to do the 14b upgrade but i dont have any fuel mods yet. So how much boost would be safe on a stock fuel system? And if i got a 190 how much boost can i push then? And how hard was it to put the turbo in? If i got a 14b with all the water lines and oil line can i reuse them all? Sorry for the stupid questions but im kind of broke. So i wont to do it as cheap as possible.
 
KillaDSM... im on the stock fuel system too.. I have my MBC set at 15psi....On mine i reused the coolant lines from my T-25...Although i had to use a Oil return line from the 14b..And i upgraded to a SS oil feed line which i suggest to do. You'll need a J-pipe. I scored a 1g j-pipe off my bud for 10 bux.. You just hafta get creative with the Lower Intercooler Pipe. I cut my stock one in half and used half of that and half of a stock 1g Lower intercooler pipe to connect to the j pipe. ..All in all my install went about as good as it can go.. I soaked all my bolts down real good with some Penetrating oil the morning of the install and started on it at night and everything came off with no problems.. Aside from the purchase of the turbo i only spent like 30 bucks on this install.. And that was mainly on gaskets..

I also re-used the T25 coolant lines and upgraded to the SS feed line. But what about re-using the stock T25 oil return line? It is possible? I cant get my bolt holes to line up.... What do you recommend that I do?

sorry took so long for the reply.. im in college and had night classes.. I had a 1g and a 2g return line.. I used the 1g because i couldnt get my 2g one to work.
 
I used the 2g line because the 1g was too short to reach the hole in the oil pan. I just slotted the holes on the turbo end of the 2g and bolted it up.

As soon as I get home, I'm going to try to do that. If it doesnt work, then I'll have to bribe one of my friends to make the drive to get a 1G one tonight. No matter what, I will get it running tonight.... even if I have to use duct tape and my gargen hose for a return line. :p I'll let you guys know tomorrow how everything works... :thumb:
 
I didn't even bother looking for a rebuilt one. I ended up with one though. It had about 70k on it after the rebuild which was ~120k. Paid $100 for it with a wg actuator, j pipe, 02 housing and all the oil/water lines.

Just look for a local enthusiast who has upgraded. One of our local guys has 8 1gs. He had plenty of 14bs laying around.
