I finished my 14b install, at least I thought I did.

I reused every line, both water, oil feed, and oil return line; put RTV silicone gasket maker on every gasket and reused everything.

I used a 1g J-pipe and flipped my LICP but it would not fit. So I used part of a cold air extension from an accord I had laying around to make my custom LICP.

I cranked my car and viola! it roared. But not for long. My idle was really bad, the car was about to die, and Oil was leaking from my oil feed line.

I dont understand, the 2g oil feed line went in the turbo perfectly. I put every line back to where it was except for the tee fitting from the turbo. I'm stumped. What should I do about the idle?? about the oil leak??

if its leaking oil - then it must not have made a good seal - did ya replace the crush washers ? as for the idle, leak test the intake

The 2g line didnt have any washers, it was just a line with threads on the end. I have a 1g oil feed line but its way too short, should I route the oil feed from the head?

You need to use washers on the oil feed or else it will leak. Just keep feeding the oil from the housing, it's cleaner from there.

And yeah, someone's write up said all you have to do is flip the LICP and you're good to go but everyone has learned that's not the case. I ended up using my hard pipe and hacked up the stock rubber pipe to extend the hard pipe. Also bought 3/8" rubber fuel lines to extend the coolant lines to the turbo.

Good luck.

So the 2g oil feed line should work, I just need to use washers??

Also, on the oil return line, the 2 of the 4 bolts are too short, how did you guys figure this out?

Anybody know what type of washer i'm supposed to use?? A pic would be really useful as I misplaced my washer.

its call a copper crush washer. I bought 4 for like 2 bucks at dealer. It still did not do anything. I guess me and you are in the same boat. Mine leaks from the banjo bolt on top of the center piece of the turbo. I'd try just about everything. You might have to take the turbo out and put in the banjo bolt first, then at the end of the feed line poor some oil in and use a bike pump to pump the oil in. keep doing it until you see no more leak and then put the turbo on. This is my last idea on fixing the leak.

Hope this helps.

Update: I just used a small sized washer and it worked! There is no oil leak from what I can tell, everthing is fine. I put my car in neutral to see if my 14b would spool, and it does.

My problem now is my idle. Its not steady. It stays fine for a while, then dips, dips and rises, and dips, rises, dips, and dies. I checked my intake, IC piping and still nothing. What could it be??

Update: I tried to drive my car with what seemed to be a small boost leak but it was undrivable. The car kept dieing alot. So I popped the hood, and inevitably, the oil feed line is leaking again. If any locals can help me out, i'd greatly appreciate it.

You need to replace the oil line with a banjo type for mitsu turbos. T25 has an inverted flare trubing oil line so that wont seal, either buy an aftermarket one or find one for the 14b that gets oil from the head. Good luck.

Hey, when I come get those rims I can take a look at it for you. Sorry I didn't make it today, but I had other stuff I had to do.

This is what happens when you go the cheap route, and "reuse everything", combined with not really knowing what you're doing.

You said you used a small size washer, was it a crush washer or just a regular washer?

I replaced all gaskets, reused all lines. But it looks like I'll be replacing my oil feed line now.

Does this crushed washer have a distinctive look to it? Its gonna be like needle in a haystack for me.

The bigger problem is the idle, as i checked and double checked everything.

Sheesh, the install is gonna end up costing me more than I bargained for. Replacing the mani, turbo, and o2 gaskets with felpro gaskets was $50 bux alone. The SS line will be another $30-$50. Feeding my friends and buying them hot chocolate while they help me do this was $40 bux. (Thank god whoppers are 2 for $3! LOL).

To anybody that is reading this thread for reference, LISTEN!

DO NOT TRY TO TAKE A SHORTCUT, ITS GONNA BITE YOU IN THE ASS.

If you're buying a kit, they will come with. If you're using a 1g, bring the banjo bolt to an old school parts store and try to find one that will fit perfectly. Remember you need "copper crush washers".

Can someone comfirm all the places that sell the oil feed line?? I checked SBR, RRE, Hahncraft and i think AMS does too. Does anybody know anywhere else?

I think DSMparts sells it as well. I bought mine from SBR, it'll come with 2 washers, you'll want to use 1 on the top of the banjo and 1 on the bottom to prevent any kind of leaking.

I used the 1g oil return line on my 14b swap on my 2g. The 2 bolts to the oil pan were fine but my 2g bolts for the turbo connection were too thick so I picked up some bolts at Home Depot. They were the same thread size and pitch as the bolts that connect the return at the pan. They were a little longer so I picked up a pack of washers, ended up stacking 2 washers on each bolt if I remember right.

I have a 1g oil feed line. I've done some research and I have found that it is alright to use it and direct it to the head instead of the oil filter housing. Now I just need those crushed washers.

Im gonna head to the mitsubishi dealer to get them bolts and washers.

Im gonna disconnect the 2g oil line going from my oil filter housing, so what should I plug it with it?

We have every part needed to install a 14b on a 2g. Stop by if you need anything.

I'll stop by but only if your price justifies the longer trip. :thumb:
how much would a SS oil feed line be?

Update:

So I replaced my line to a 1g line, redid my LICP and started her up. No more oil leak, no more idle problems, everything was good. I took it out for a drive, and i noticed that I couldnt go over 2000 rpms, even though my boost gauge kept climbing.

I also noticed that my car was overheating. So i popped my hood and I heard a high pitch squealing noise coming from the top radiator hose, where the thermostat is. I tried to turn on the heater but my heater is not working either, its still cold.

Any help??
