I know there are a few people who are looking to do the 14b swap, and, like me, had alot of questions. I finally finished it today after more than 15 hours of work and i must say it was pretty tough. I'm just going to note a few things that might make the swap easier.

Make sure you are well prepared with all the parts, tools, etc.. you need. A breaker bar is a must to get the manifold studs off. Like most people say on this site, don't get the oil from the head, it is a big headache, at least it was for me; Just buy an SS feed line. When getting the stock oil feed off, just cut it near the oil filter housing. I used some teflon tape in the oil feed threads.

Try an get a o2 sensor socket to make life easier.

I had a stock 1g j pipe and had seen a few people connecting the LICP directly to it, it didn't work for me. The hose just didn't stretch far enough. I'll get some pics of the setup made.

If you have a 1g oil return, leave the 2g oil return bolted to the pan. I just cut each oil return and used rubber hose to connect the two, no leaks.

i tried to skimp on parts and ended up paying for it. I ended up buying an SS oil feed line, new exhaust manifold to turbo gasket, a bunch of new crush washers, and some misc nuts and bolts. Do it right the first time so you don't have to redo it again and be prepared to make trips to Home Depot. I think that's it for now...ill get pics later.
thanks:dsm:

when i did the 14b on my gst it took me about 4 hours or so, i ran the oil feed off the head and never had a problem. I ran an extended j-pipe to mount up to my greddy piping though for piping. Was definately a big gain untill my motor spun a rod bearing.

After i finished the install i went on a test drive at 8 psi, and made sure it boosted fine. Turning it up to 15 psi this thing pulls hard all the way to redline. If you are even considering this swap do it now. I spent a total of $110 and i can say it was well worth it.

Any other tips?

it is definately a much better turbo than the t25. I didnt get much run time with my 14b since a rod bearing spun less than 300 miles after i put the turbo on. But i was happy with it, but could never get all my boost leaks tracked down so it started cutting out at like 5500rpm.
