I know there are a few people who are looking to do the 14b swap, and, like me, had alot of questions. I finally finished it today after more than 15 hours of work and i must say it was pretty tough. I'm just going to note a few things that might make the swap easier.
Make sure you are well prepared with all the parts, tools, etc.. you need. A breaker bar is a must to get the manifold studs off. Like most people say on this site, don't get the oil from the head, it is a big headache, at least it was for me; Just buy an SS feed line. When getting the stock oil feed off, just cut it near the oil filter housing. I used some teflon tape in the oil feed threads.
Try an get a o2 sensor socket to make life easier.
I had a stock 1g j pipe and had seen a few people connecting the LICP directly to it, it didn't work for me. The hose just didn't stretch far enough. I'll get some pics of the setup made.
If you have a 1g oil return, leave the 2g oil return bolted to the pan. I just cut each oil return and used rubber hose to connect the two, no leaks.
i tried to skimp on parts and ended up paying for it. I ended up buying an SS oil feed line, new exhaust manifold to turbo gasket, a bunch of new crush washers, and some misc nuts and bolts. Do it right the first time so you don't have to redo it again and be prepared to make trips to Home Depot. I think that's it for now...ill get pics later.
thanks
