Well, I get my car back next week and the first thing I'm picking up is the datalogging program from pocketlogger.com. I have a m100 palm pilot laying around so Im gonna use it on that. My question is I know 2g can't read knock on a datalogger, but you can tell if your knocking by looking at rpm's, o2's, and timing. What do I have to look for in these 3 parameters to know if my car is knocking. My profile is up to date and I want to know before hand what to look for. Thanx in advance for any replies. :thumb:

I use DSMLink which has a "knock count" feature so I can see the knock count plus timing being pulled.

One way to tell is when you are doing a WOT pull and can see the timing going up through the pull, and then at, just for an example, say 4500RPM the timing goes down 1-2 degrees, you can bet there is some knock going on pulling timing.

With a palm you can tell by looking at your timing. On the onset of boost the timing will get retarded, once boost is reached it will then start to climb again. It should do this steady until the readline. If you see the timing stall out at a certain point after it has started to climb or if timing is reduced, that indicates knock.

Exactly what I wanted to know. :D Once I get it setup, I'll be sure to post some logs just to get the idea of it. Thanx again :thumb: .
