Anyone know any freeware datalogger software so I can hook a obdII cable straight to my laptop?? I want it so that I can see everything on the laptop (instead of seeing everything on a palm)

also, could I get a link for a OBDII to serial cable.

thanks...

dam those things are expensive... would I be able to use a cable from serial to OBDII from a VW??

could you use they're wires and adapters for dsmlink. To hook up to your computer, This looks like the adapter or doggle that is used for the dsmlink. Alls you would need is a cable and the program. Or is this not the same thing as what I am thinking of.

ok, i just emailed the people about the cable, hopefully I'll get a response soon! Thanks alot for helpin me out! :thumb:

When i emailed then it took about a day for them to respond, but i had emailed late in the day. i think for a 2g you need the t16-003 and a null modem cable to hook the laptop to the muliplex piece. Did you get all the software downloaded and installed?

ok, cool... ya, i got some software last night and installed it on my laptop, it's sweet!! took awhile to find it, but I will post on here what the program is called and I will post the link! It's SWEEEEET

ok, after awhile of searching I finally found what I got... it's the Diagnose for windows, version 2.2.... http://www.obddiagnostics.com/ProgWin.html ... see screen shots HERE , there's a startup screen that you pick which OBDII version you have on your car, I guess it reads better when you choose, I dont see why it wouldn't work though, lemme know if anyone finds out if it works or not, and if you do, what setting you picked!! I LOVE HOW THE GAUGE VIEW LOOKS!!
