need laptop for dsmlink ?

Well I just recieved my dsmlink today. I went to look at my brothers laptop and it didnt have that connection. My desktop does and was thinking about moving it to the garage and doing it from there. Or do you need a laptop so that you can tune it while driving ?

Yes you need a laptop. You can buy a serial port that connects to a usb port for like $10 at radio shack.

You can tune it with your desktop but a laptop would be better because you can take it in the car with you and tune as you do your runs.

Then he would not beable to log his runs. How can you tune on a desktop and use the data logger with dsmlink?? You cant you need a laptop or a palm. A guy on the dsmlink forums made a good program to tune dsmlink through a palm.
