i was just wondering what you guy are using to log, i bought a cable off ebay, and it works with some software, but i cant actually "log" it. it just shows the data. i tried obd2 logger but it wont work on my laptop because i'm using a usb to db9 adapter.

anyone know of any other software that will let me capture the data so i can post it?
help is really apreciated

edit. this is on a 2g is that helps. i tried mmcd but it wont work.

hey check out my thread in the tuning section
http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253686
I linked to a cable, and software.
Its for Evos, but its supposed to work with a lot of other Mitsubishi's. I just got an email back from the developer saying that both the cable, and software he sells will work with my car (95 Talon tsi awd)

Its 25 dollars, but looks like it has a lot of nice features.

mmcd will work on a laptop but you need the palm emulator...

yeah, i have it already, but i cant get it to read codes or anything. it says "serial com error' and i remember reading somewhere that it wont work for 2g cars.

thanks for the info vprime, i'll look into that.

You need a null modem adapter, you can build one if you chose...

i need a null modem to get the mmcd to work on my laptop? ok thanks.
I also have a palm vx and i installed mmcd in it. i figured that if i got a gender it would work, but it wont work either.

can you post a link a link to the modem i need? i really dont know much about computer stuff..

it has a 15 pin female connector on the back. thanks
That's not a serial port. It's the VGA port to plug in an external monitor. Most Laptops build in the past few years don't have serial ports anymore. If that's the case you need to get something like the Keyspan USB to serial adaptor.

what stores carry keyspan (best buy, radio shack). Or is there another brand that will work as well. thanks for your time steve

From the DSMLink web site:

USB NOTE: If you're planning to use the 1G cable with a laptop that only provides a USB port, you'll need to use an appropriate USB to DB9 converter. The only one that we've found to work properly is the Keyspan unit (USA-19HS) shown here. Other Keyspan adapters may work as well, but for sure there are various Radio Shack, Belkin, IOGear, iConcepts, and anything based on the Prolific or Cypress chipsets that do NOT work. So it's going to be best to play it safe and try to locate a good quality Keyspan adapter if you have a need for this

The USA-19HS is available at CompUSA http://www.compusa.com/products/pro..._code=309975&Pn=High_Speed_USB_Serial_Adapter
