Damaged MAF (MAS)

I was wondering, what kind of damage can a MAS take until it's rendered completely inoperational? Not sure, but it seems like my MAS is messed up, and I'm worried that it's damaged. How much could another MAS cost, roughly? Thanks!

What kind of damage are you talking here? Are you talking mileage? Or throwing it on the ground and hitting it with a hammer?

Do you have any Check Engine Lights? That MAF will definitely throw one. What are your symptoms?

And a BRAND new maf from the dealer is probably quite expensive (3, 400 bucks?) but they all all day long in the classifieds for 50-75 bucks.

if you think that your MAF sensor is going bad just test it with a multimeter
