I threw the water pump belt, the car overheated. Head gasket is cracked. What are the odds I'm going to have to resurface the head? And if so, should I just buy a new one instead ? I've been quoted about $400 to get this one resurfaced, I feel like I can find complete heads for cheaper than that. I know on AutoZone they have a new tech complete head set that supposedly fits , would anybody recommend those ?

Both surfaces should be checked with a machinists straight edge and you make the call based on the current condition. Why speculate when you can get it checked?
Even if you post pictures we cannot do measurements over the internet so you'll need to get it looked at.
Depending on the gasket used, both surfaces could be pretty chewed based on the bite some gaskets have (like the felpro 9672pt)

Sorry my question wasn't worded very well. I was more so asking how often these heads warp, some heads are pretty good about holding up to heat for a while before warping and some are not, I plan on checking everything with a straight edge regardless, but assuming that I do have to get it resurfaced, would it be cheaper to buy a new/used head , that I know is perfect or to go with the $400 resurface?

Also, has anybody heard about the nutech autozone cylinder head replacements LOL?

Overheat and crack/warp? Cracked head is hard to fix. If you really did crack it, you may be looking for a good replacement. Warped - yes - 4G63 heads warp, and no that's not easy to address either.

I just had a head rebuilt, valve job, with springs and shims I provided for $350

If you don't have a good core to start, it gets more expensive from there.
