cylinder head problem

hey i found a nice 2g head but it doesnt have the cam shaft caps, my head has been resurfaced do much already but the internals are good...iv heard mix things bout reusing diff cam caps from diff heads...i know if i reuse them ill have to get the cams redone...do u guys think i should just look for another head or use what ive got? any help would be nice...thanks

A head with no caps = JUNK, at least for me.

yeah im kinda learning that...i thought that i could just use any..but i was wrong ...im still learning

Its ok, we all have to start somewhere. I got in the DSM game 9 years ago but didn't know about the caps until 2007 when I built the engine on my car. I was told by my engine builder and machinist that if the head doesn't comes with caps its pretty much useless.

yeah same with me...and the guy i got it from has been into dsm for a while and he just found out

dont use the head ......get one with cam caps

yeah im trying to find a good one for cheap...i called the dealer and there 1300 ....i wouldnt buy it i just wanted to know how much for a new never used one...haha
