i need a new head for my 7 bolt out of a 1999 GST im just wondering what my options are and what would be the best route to take.

While driving about two weeks ago my oil filter came loose on me somehow and i didnt realize it until i was parked in my garage and i left a huge puddle of oil on the floor. I left to go to my girlfriends not seeing the puddle, my dad called me and told me to pull over and look under my car for oil and i didnt see anything with my car running. After i got to my girlfriends house i went to put a board under my car and by the time i got it under my car i had a huge puddle of oil again. This time i saw it pouring out from the oil filter so i tighted and it stopped leaking. I didnt have oil to add to and figured it was fine. It was all fine the next day until that night when i was out driving with some friends. While racing all of a sudden my clutch slipped or something ### my car revved up to about 6000 rpm i got off the gas and back on and it was fine. Next thing i noticed was my oil pressure gauge read no oil pressure and i know it was working 5 mins before that. So i pulled over and noticed that my oil filter came loose again. So i went to walmart bought oil and oil filter and changed it in the parking lot and add about a quart of because i didnt think i had lost that much oil and i switched filters as fast as i could. I know i shouldve checked the dipstick but i have had a problem with it coming up on me so i had it zipped tied down and i didnt want to cut the ziptie to check it. (now i realize i ###### should have just bought some and checked the dipstick but whats done is done.) So after changing it and i started driving i noticed i still didnt have oil pressure and figured maybe it was ### oil had gotten on the sensor or something. After about a half hour of crusing i started to hear a really weird noise coming from under the hood and thought maybe it was my belt slipping(it had been raining and i have no splash guards and my car is about 4 inches off the ground.) Then it got worse so i pulled over and shut my car off and checked it over and started it back up. While it was idleing i heard a knocking sound coming from right under the valve cover so i just shut it off and left it there thinking it was rod knock or valves-pistons. Got it towed home and ripped the head off and noticed there was nothing wrong with the pistons. Im just a little worried that my head is bad because where the oil jackets are in the head it looks jagged and rough like there not suppose to look like that so im just looking for a new head or maybe just get my head rebuilt.

Are you sure it was only the head? Did you check the oil for metal particles in it? Did the sound get worse with speed and it made a clunk sound? The best thing you can hope for is your head being bad! I don't mean to scare you but theres a big possibilitie your bottom end is done for especially if it had no oil to lubricate the bearings and the piston pins.

im gunna drop the oil pan and look inside see if i can see anything. The oil that i dumped out before i tore it all a part didnt look like it had any metal shavings or anything like that.
