Well my friend just got done breaking in his 2600. And today was the first day he has gotten on. Well we went out to the "testing grounds" to see how it feels. When he shifts into second it grabs hard. I have a 2600 in my car and its nothing like it. The best way I could describe it is as if it was a puck clutch. On the 1-2 shift it felt like he tached it to 7 and dumped it. Then after that we tried a few launches to see how it did. And well we could hear some clunking durring the launch, all though he passed it off as the exhaust hitting the ground. Also sometimes when taking off normal it almost feels like there is slack in the driveline and it slips or something. So after that we were pulling in to the parking spot we hear a real loud clunk. It also felt like something was dragging. Now when ever you turn sharp enough we get the clunking and dragging. My first thought was the center defferential since it just developed and mainly happens when turning. He got it up on jacks and put it in gear and only three tires will spin. The front left just sits there. He's thinking the CV joint is shot but the boot isn't leaking and before he put the clutch in there was no problem. I'm not really sure what to think but I don't think the CV would just suddenly break and cause all the other problems. What do you guys think?
but i got both boots replaced , new grease and now the sounds gone.
