What size chromoly? What are the plates made out of and what thickness? What's the total weight of the chromoly unit vs ms unit vs stock unit?

post 10 list the specs on the tubing. main tubing is 1.5"od .200 wall ... tubing that the bushings slide into is
2"od .250 wall... tabs for lower control arms are 3/16 thick

Haggard Fabrication is my buddies shop who makes them

dont have the weight of chromolly havent made one yet, but im sure its considerably lighter then the stock members.

room is alot of the reason i did it, its definatly stiffer, and transmission removal and reinstall is one of the easiest things to do even with the passenger side axle installed. There is nothing in the way

( Dumb Question )What would it take to get something like this made?

Judging by the picture below I take it you got the kmem. and the front bar only?

I also emailed him with a bunch of questions, I'll report back if the findings are significant.

Edit: Recieved the email, he said he trashed the Jig used to make them because there was a lack of interest!

Im running no connection bars. I have no issues with it eather. plenty of street use. Im over 4000 miles on it and its as good as new. Hit a bump on the highway at 120+ and this was no little bump eather. Plenty of launches, 1 blown apart xfer case and there is still no issues

Well i saw some other people doing it with custom control arms. Alot of people were leaning more toward it with the factory control arms. So here it is.

Dont mind it not being painted its black now. This is just mild steel but overal weight savings is about 50-60 pounds, no more cross bars, no more sway bar, factory control arms and rack. My buddys looking to make these in mild steel and chromolly

hate to rain on your parade but just like one person already said that isn't a well made part no matter how many race car frames he's built. There isn't any triangulation like the stock frame and so result you're putting a weaker part on the car. The unibody will be taking increased stress.

Well still no issues at all. It saved about 30 pounds, and a ton of room. Chromolly would ofcourse save alot more.

I now have had this setup for 8 months on my car, and over 8k miles, and more then 30 passes

Just because you have no issue makes it any good that part has lacks all of the rigidity of the stock part and what do you use your car for again?

How much would these things be to ship?

And hes gonna get me one made for my drag/street car!

Are you getting the mild steel or chromolly version?

Its a 500hp street car, used for drag racing. fully built aem powered g4cs 2.4, which over the winter im going from a 60-1 p trim to a borg warner s370 i have sitting here, then ill be probably making upper 600 to over 700, but time will tell.

Ill look at it this way, if hitting a bump (which it was a big one, suspension everything bottomed out) at 130mph and it didnt break, i doubt normal launches on slicks, and street driving is gonna kill this thing. Plus my front end feels more ridged then it ever has when the factory STAMPED plywood was in there.:thumb:

I have been following thread for a while. Any updates for 2g owners?:talon:

nah nothing yet sir LOL. I know you have been following it. More or less we dont have alot of 2g owners around our area unfortunatly. Im sure with me and "IHATEDDSMS" starting up alittle business associated with dsms we will probably see some and go from there.

i honestly want these to work well but im just not sure about this one. i would LOVE to see vids of the car with the structure in place and see some wild driving out if it to be sold on this product. is that bar solid steel or is it hollow???? i just cant see that piece being just as strong as the factory unit. my opinion is really based on alot of the bs you have to filter through on this sit to find the correct information. not saying that your lieing about what you do with your car or the product itself, but i have seen too many people post the all the good stuff and not enough of what is REALLY happening...

My friend fabricated it. His site is Haggard Fabrication. This thread kinda died out so things got put on hold, and we been leaving the "who wants one" to the local scene around here. Ill ask him about fabricating one for the 2g though. It depends on his and my schedule to get it done.

Shipping im sure would be 50-100 dollars.

Ill have some track videos soon, but most of my videos are based on the street if you know what i mean.

If you read back in the pages i post the diameters/thickness's of the materials used.

I understand theres alot of BS on here. Im really not trying to sell anything to anyone, it was made out of the fact that it saves some weight, and alot of room. I can get my trans in and out 100% easier now, and theres alot more room to work on things.

My setup, and car are not basic setup, mild modifications. Ihatedsms is gonna be the next person running one in his race car build you can see here http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/290305-my-1992-awd-drag-talon-build.html

I will try to keep some people updated

I'll be buying one when I have some extra money. I just have to decide which material. If I knew how much more the CM saves then I would be able to make my decision easier.
