Recently I just got a turbo timer and I wanted to display it somewhere in the car, but after talking to a buddy of mine he recommended for me to hide it some where. I also want to hide my boost gauge somewhere -- but the problem is, I don't want to rip up the car or go overboard. I was wondering (and I did a search) of where I could put my boost gauge other than an a-pillar, or a dash bezel? I'm not sure if I want the boost gauge to be visible or not...

Same for the turbo timer, I thought of putting that in my glove compartment.

I know some people mount turbo timers on the bottom of the steering column. Not very visible and still easily accessible.

I've also been trying to think of places to put gauges other than an a-pillar pod. I was considering mounting one in the driver's side air vent but not sure if it would fit + running lines etc. might be a problem.

Other than that I don't really know anywhere where a gauge would be easy to mount, visible to the driver, and hard to see from outside the car. Maybe if you have an aftermarket stereo you could put some under the head unit and make a cover? Again, not sure about fitment, etc.

If you have alot of free time I suppose you could go through the gallery and look at other people's interiors for ideas.

I mounted mine in my vent in the middle of the car. i removed the air vent for heat/ac and put it there it works well is clean and looks good also some are in the center console but thats just my voltometer and toggle switchs. :)

in my civic (i kno i hate em too) i had a 3" tach in my left vent, and a boost gauge and water temp. side by side in what used to be hte trash compartment that folded out, it workd great

my bud at work has a turbo'd integra. and he has his sweet stealth gauges. he has em in teh glove box. he opens it up and they kinda slide out i think and he made like a fiber glass pod for em that aim towards him.

I have to respect a civic that doesn't have a tach the size of my mother's kitchen clock perched on their dash.

the way my dads corvette does it works pretty well but im not sure if there is still room in your car. Its like a little piece of felt or something that juts out and surrounds the gauge and is thick at the top and skinny at the bottom. This blocks the view from the side and looks ok. A home job one might end up looking crappy though & it may be tricky trying to fit the gauges so that the overhang would actually cover it and not just look cool.

Hope that helps & sorry for no pictures :(

I seen it mounted on the vent on the driver's door. Just remove the vent, make a plate with the proper whole for the gauge. It looks very nice, that's where i'm gonna mount my wideband gauge

this car isnt mine its mu buddys, its wreaked now..
anyway the duct tape was just temporary, he had it on there with a little touch of glue.

I found a great spot for my boost guage so that its clearly visible to me and no one else. I just mounted it underneath the steering wheel by my right knee. The carpeted area where the dash meets the carpet. Works great and no one can see. (except me of course).

In my 1G i hid it in the little coin tray thing

Well here is what I have.....I have an AF and a boost gauge only.....but I also have a DSMLink so I dont need anything else.

I have my gauges around the cluster. They cannot be seen from the lane next to me so the car looks stock minus the HUGE FMIC. If you do it this way be sure to put the AF on the left and boost on the right. That way the passenger can watch the boost and you can avoid the "what do those disco lights do question".

^ i have one of those its very hard to read the boost gauge while your driving.
i much rather of bought a a=pillar. i have one of those for sale if interested.

I am not sure if it would work in our DSMs, but I saw an RSX that had the boost gauge mounted in the cupholder. The little flip to cover up the hole was still on too, so you could cover it up when you leave the car or when you just don't want it visible.

I dont have any problem reading it but I am really only watching for the KNOCK CEL not the boost gauge. Once boost is set its set I hardly ever look at it while driving.
