ok well i have a shop that is willing to make me a 3" inside diameter exhaust from catback for my car and they want $250, is that alot, I wanted to know before i get it because I am supposed to go and have it made 2 morrow, but if that is a ripp off then nevermind, i mean i had a 3" exhaust crush bent for me and it was 165 but that was from another exhaust shop. Also I can make this exhaust myself out of stainless steel for the same price, i just have to weld it all up myself or my friend, whereas the exhaust i have the shop make is going to me aluminized steel, also should i go with 3.5 inch piping so the inside diameter would be 3.25 or should i just get 3" Outside diameter?? Also about the aluminized steel, i live in FLorida so there really isnt salt on the roads for snow, i mean sum ppl say ocean breeze but I live to far away from the ocean for that.

Well the $250 all depends. You have already stated that it is aluminized steel but if you're not worried then that is find. Now is place planing on making pinch or crushed bends because if so I don't know if it is worth it. I have seen people on this site go to a local muffler shop and have pinch bent aluminized steel full 02 back exhaust made for around $400 or less. Also what kind of muffler is included. Just keep these things in mind.

As for the diameter, your setup calls for 3" piping. You only need a larger diameter if you have increased engine displacement or have a really large turbo. (If you want specific reference check the upgrade flow path for the 2g on this site.)

Check out ebay for deals on exhaust.

if you get the megan racing one be sure to specify 3" diametere

They may not be the best but the will be better than what you, I or some local muffler
shop could create.

Hope this helped

no its mandrel bend all out of one pipe, i had a local exhaust shop make me crush bent 3 inch. and that stuff sucked. and i plan on using this exhaust when i build my 6-bolt engine, so thats whay i said maybe 3.5 inch, i plan on making about 600 and change maybe 700, so i would like to use the same exhaust, but as far as the muffler, I already have an HKS Hiper flow muffler that i bought to use, the muffler was more than the custom made exhaust, but thats what im using, but yes its 250 with my muffler welded up and i have no cat so there gonna compensate the extra lenghth instead of using a test pipe and im making them add on a flange so i can unbolt my muffler, kind of like the thermal exhaust setup where the muffler unbolts.

Just FYI, i made 3" turbo back for my car for like $225 with a muffler. just to give you some insight on price....also, what size inlet is your muffler? and 3" is large enough for most applications. 3.5 IMO is over kill

I made my complete 3" turboback for $146.93 with a muffler! I work at NAPA though so I got all the piping and bends at cost. :thumb: As for the 3" deal. 3" is more than enough. My friend Shane IS putting down, not planning on putting down, over 700 and he prefers the 3" over the 3.5". Bigger exhaust will also present a BIG boost spike problem if you aren't careful. I would go with just a 3" turboback. And $250.00 sounds very resonable for what some places charge for mandrel bending.

i made my turboback for around 343.00 total. SS 3in downpipe with flexsection and it goes on to the 3.5in aluminized steel catback with a 3.5 dynomax ultra-flow SS muffler. 15 degree (JDM yoo!!!) piecuts :p for bends and as little restrictions as possible. may not be pretty but it performs and does the job.

well i had the muffler already its a HKS Hipower or something like that and it was 3" inlet str8 throught to a 2" outlet, so it works fine, but yeah the thing is, is the piping is 3" outside diameter so ur losing like a 1/4 of an inch but it will all work fine, the only thing he said i need to get thats stainless is the downpipe, he recommends i get a stainless downpipe. Also i had him make me a bolt on flange so i can remove the muffler and run no muffler, well i copied that idea from thermal, they have the muffler that unbolts so whatever, i guess if u have to trailer it or ne thing so it doesnt hit but he did that at no extra cost, it came out to be 220$ for everything, so its all good. :thumb:
