Ok i'm getting ready to do my own exhaust and i was wondering how important is the flex section? I know if i dont have it there is a possibility for the welds breaing but really how great are the risks?

you need one.

Well a friend of mine has an integra is an ls-t and he just got his exhaust done at an exhaust shop and they didn't put a flex pipe on and the bolts holding the turbo on started to shake themselves loose, which means i'm pretty sure i need one. Thanks for the input kooka.

Put one on, it'll help ensure you don't bust a weld on your exhaust when the engine shifts. I know a lot of honda's run without them, and I don't know the reasoning. But damn near all the DSM exhaust's incorporate a flex section in the down pipe. Spend the extra money and get one!!

I agree with me. I got one dirt cheap on ebay and I think it would be worth not risking trouble down the line.

depends if his entire exhaust is hanging from the rubber hangers like it is stock.

put one in anyways.

Put one on. I dont see why you would do something half assed so that you have to do it again. When the motor moves back and forth the exhaust has to be able to give. It will use that flex section to do so. If not it will crack and you will have to do it again.
