Hello everybody i have never worked on a dsm before so i need sum help im going to buy this 1990 eclipse with a gst swap. The guy gave me a list of mods hes done just wondering if it all sounds good and if hes really makin that kind of power. Heres the list

HKS BOOST CONTROLLER
FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER
FULL 3'' EXHAUST
WALBRO FUEL PUMP
PRECISION INJECTORS

First of all fix your grammar! Second no that's a lie that car is not making over 300hp or whp on stock boost! Third..... You don't have any type of tuning software like DsmLink. That car is probably making 160whp if its healthy and your lucky. BTW you can't ever tell how much hp you have, every car is different and you need to get it dyno to get real numbers. :ohdamn:
 
Also find out what size injectors! and if there bigger than 550s youll need dsmlink. if not a safc will suffice. with either of them and some mild tuning you can hit 300hp.
 
what size injectors does it have? but yea with a wideband and dsmlink you should be able to turn the boost up(depending on your injector size) and tune and should be able to get around 300 hp. how much they askin for it?

300hp is doable with that setup but we need to know if it has something to tune with like safc or dsmlink. How big are the injectors and what 16g?
 
Find out what they mean by a GST swap? Was the car originally a non-turbo with a turbo engine swap or is it a non-turbo motor with a turbo added???:confused:
 
Stock 14b 1g makes 205hp from the factory. The safc can tune 650cc injectors before you run into timing issues. There are other tuning solutions besides link. Ds-maps "jackal", tuner pro rt, maf-t, maf-t/safc combo, Aem, etc,etc.

A 16g... is it the small/big one? On stock boost 10-12psi, a 16g would not have a problem hitting 230-250hp depending on the tune.
 
On my gst I had about the same setup with stock 450cc injectors. It was dynoed at 16psi on a B16g and made 261 whp. Then had turbo ported and such and at 23psi made 310whp.
I would say no way is it making over 300hp on stock boost only 11-12psi....
 
Not really a good rundown on mods.If running large injectors and the bigger pump with no tuner and afpr,I'm guessing that car will not last long as it sits.

Also if it is a 5 speed you are looking at at least 220 on stock boost..But a tune would definatly crank that number up.So pics and a good mod list would be awsome if you want us to help you tell if it is legit.
 
We can't tell you because we don't know the condition of the turbo and the motor. If the motor is about to die it might only be making just over 100 horse power. There really is no way of telling.



But we can verify no 4g63t has made 300hp on any 16g with just 10ish psi of boost.

No two motors will make the same power.

A stock EVO 8-9 has a better turbo, higher compression, is properly tuned, and runs 18 psi stock. It only is rated at 276hp in Japan and 302hp here depending on the model.
 
I wonder why he says hes running stock boost to make 300hp, when he says he has a boost controller?? I bet its not stock boost... Maybe the guy selling dont have a clue either! ROFL

LOL! that's what i was thinking too. OP find out what size injectors, what kind of 16g turbo he has in it...also by swap find out exactly what he means by that.
 
you got pte injectors, a pump and a 16g. all u need is a safc2 and u can prob hit 300. not on stock(11psi) boost tho LOL. going to have to up that quite a bit
 
Im going to test that theory there. Mine is specifically a bolt on car. Turbo, injectors, AFPR, 255lph wally, FMIC, pipes, bov, gm maf, maft, and a wide band 3" turbo back exhaust and a 2g exhaust mani. eprom with a chip is my tuning source. No cams and using an AUTO with stock intake. My goal is 300-400whp once tuned. I have nothing special, this is specifically for a fun lil street car until I get another motor built to have a nice fresh built motor to boost the hell out of and make into a track monster.
 
Beware of guys that try to sell their DSM's like this. Especially if they aren't educated in proper English. It usually means that their driving habits and mechanic work are equally challenged, meaning you reap the consequential buttfockery when you buy the car.
 
im around 250whp with a 14b but i am also running full supporting mods bigger injectors 19psi on 93 pump with ecm link tune so id say 200whp in top running form.
 
the guy had the boost turned up, before he lowered it back down. Said he wanted to be safe LOL anyhow thanks for all the replys kinda dumb question now that i think about it
 
Get some cams dsmlink and 22 psi maybe 300. Your probably lookin at 260-280whp range. Good luck get on the dyno and you will know.:thumb:
