Ever since I bought my 1999 gsx the cruise has never worked, it is all there but I can't figure out why it doesnt work... When I hit the cruise on/off I get the little light. When i hit set my dash lights up green and says CRUISE, but it doesn't maintain speed at all. It is a 5 speed 1999 Eclipse GSX. What could cause this?

Mine did that when I bought it. Check the vacuum hoses around the cruise control unit. Mine was unplugged. Also it has a problem sometimes when the clutch switch doesn't come all the way in.

Yeah, check the clutch switch at the top of the clutch pedal stroke.
With the clutch all the way out, the switch should be pressed in.
Make sure it's plugged in too.
Sometimes people disconnect it thinking it's the plug to disconnect so one can start their car without pressing the clutch in.

IIRC there is also one for the brake pedal too.
