You guys ahve any ideas why my cruise control would randomly stop working? I've had the car for a month... its got 13K miles on it... Cruise control worked at first, now, I'll hit it and the CRUISE light comes on, but no cruise control actually working. Id unno what's wrong with it. The only thing that I can think of is that I had my stereo put in recently and mebbe when the battery was disconnected, something died? I don't know.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

Im having the same problem with my 1998 GSX I just had a new throttle body put on about 4 weeks ago and my cruise control hasnt worked since.

check where the vacuum line is hooked to the cruise control box is........ i had the same problem with my 91 till i took a look there it was hard to spot being that it was tucked undernieth the box, but make sure that it is hookewd up

The switches that are on the brake and/or clutch pedal could have worked itself out of adjustment -and usually it's usually the clutch.

Try this little trick: put the system in cruise, get to a good crusing speed. Then, put your left foot under the clutch pedal, lift up and hold it, then hit the "SET" button. If your systems sets in, that switch needs to be adjusted.

What I had to do the same on my Laser - adjust that switch on the clutch.

well my gsx is an auto so I dont have a clutch ... also quick question im not sure which lite the guy in the previous post was referring to but i am only getting the little orange lite in the acutual cruise control switch i dont have anything in the cluster liting up.

...that's the "Cruise" light on the console showing the system is engaged. Yes, you can have the little light on the control unit on itself meaning it's on, but if either the clutch (in your case, it's not there) or the brake switch isn't closing to complete the circuit.

Electrical connections good and tight under the hood related to this system?

There's more related - fuses, actuator (vacuum or electromagnetic), et.al. that could be not allowing the system to engage.
