Ok long story short, 95 GST was sitting for a while. Battery ended up being dead. My friend hooked up the cables wrong on my 240 and I didn't notice until WAY TOO LATE.

We did get the car running after connecting it all correctly. Alternator was also out. Put it in the shop, they ran a check, car was running fine, new Alternator is charging, battery is good, called and I picked it up.

New problems noticed afterward. I didn't use any extra power off the battery while getting it to the shop so I didn't know if they existed before but I assume the did.

While heading home I notice that the Power Windows, Radio, Air System, Mirror reading light, and cig lighter are not working. Power Sunroof, dash lights, turn signals, and the lot are working. That is... untill boost pressure builds up and the turbo kicks on. Then EVERYTHING comes to life. If I shut off the car and start it again, everything is dead.... until once again you start driving and the boost kicks in.

Now the guy who owned it before us put in a Cool down Timer, a fuel/air ratio meter, an after market boost gauge, and an aftermarket alarm. These all seem to work fine without the boost surge.

I checked the fuse boxes. Only thing blown was my 40A which is the Alternator/Choke. Replaced that but it didn't fix anything. Not sure how that being blown didn't effect the charging system but people I've asked have never heard of it either.

Any suggestions on this?

Most of those are on different circuits and not controlled by the ECU so you're good there.

Trouble shoot the fuse box (hood and inside) again with a voltmeter, not visual inspection. If all check out then a few things could be wrong:

-The radio could have blown due the reversed polarity. Fix it or replace it.
-Power window switches include relays inside them. Reversing the polarity could have taken out the master switch (driver's side) which would prevent both from working.
-Cigarette lighter is a simple fused circuit. It should work after replacing the fuse. you may want to check the fuse on this one again.

Just take your time with the trouble shooting and you'll find your problems.

My question would still be, in a way I guess, why would all of these things come on after the turbo kicks in? What controlling factor sense does that make?

Sounds like an alt issue. Or a loose wire thats touching when you hit boost.

UPDATE:
Got on the phone with my dad and went through what we could with a Multimeter. The Alternator is fine with the exception that contact B isn't sending power back to the battery. All other connections are reading at the correct voltage.

Fuseable Link hasn't blown and from what we can tell, it wasn't the turbo that was effecting it. It is a matter of reving the engine enough to power everything back on not so much the turbo.

On the other hand though, I checked the voltage when everything is running and the B connection is showing 15.5v. So in the end... I don't know.

I'm not even sure with my limited knowledge if that is a good thing or not. Currently it just means that until the engine is rev'ed the alternator isn't sending power back right?

Any ideas or things for me to go look at?
