Crazy Project Idea

Hey honda or not. I think if you were to roll up to a dsm even with a right hand drive i honestly do not think one person would make fun of you. At least an smart person. Knowing how much work an time would go into this but if its what you want to be unique in the dsm world which already has to many people who have stamped there name into doing things different, then go for it. There is a guy with a 700 hp convertable on here an then he wants to track race it haha thats nuts but cool. :aha:Then you have a guy on here who took a neon chassis, made a tubular frame under it an wanted to drop a awd drivetrain and engine down in. This other guy who posted on here has that yellow buggy with a 4g63 in it. An yesterday i seen this guy with a white 1g with a top mount intercooler. Everyone probably talked some sh t on all of these guys for wanting to try something different but these are some of the most creative ideas. To the rest of the car world dsms are mostly considered junk and thats fine but its junk we turn around an make the most of an beat corvettes mustangs and even high end pasta rockets. I say go for it man and dont let anyone stop you.:talon:

I'm pretty sure I'd laugh at a RHD converted eclipse if it resided in the states. . .

Topmount guy? :thumb: . . .This RHD thing isn't a complete alteration of the stock chassis. Nor is it performance upgrade that's different yet outputs great results borne from a good concept.

This is busting your a$$ for something that wont change performance yet makes the car illegal to drive on the street :nono:. Who wants to see the effort put into a rhd eclipse? other than those that want to know you can make a dash exacly the way you want. It's creativity with no purpose. Even Pacaso made a statement. This is just "style". So if you're being a model for some magazine, more power to you!

Well from what some of the previous post said. It could be considered a performance mod for being one that "could" help corning in a track application. I know very little about track application so would it help that much ehh i dunno. Who said everything had to about performance anyway. Maybe a visual mod is what gets this guy off when he walks out the door an looks at his slab. There are tons of custom cars in the U S that have things that are not legal an go under a kit car title or something to that effect. The thing is i dont get why everyone on this site is conforming to the way everyone else wants them too. Dont mod the body on you dsm it will look ricey, dont do body kits, dont turbo a 420a sell it an get a real dsm. It just get so old an really theres nothing positive behind it. Its not like he wanted to paint it green put a blitz body kit on it and a 6 inch double stack on the rear. For the record Picaso also was a man w hore and on the day he died one of his girlfriends that he painted a picture of ended up hanging herself the day he died. Sweet role model:thumb:

LOL I said "even Picaso" not "look at picaso" :p Guy was an ass. But even an ass put a purpose to his creativity. That's why I picked him as an example over someone like da Vinci :) He had some nice crazy ideas!!!

Hey, it's his car. And who cares right? But, if he didn't care about what we felt he wouldn't have posted here. If he just has some crazy fetish seeing a steering wheel improperly placed for US traffic patterns, he'd do it and not ask what we think. If he wants to know what we thought, then he's doing it for someone other than himself (Style).

Most postal delivery jeeps are rhd. Made for european markets then sold here to the post offices. Then the post offices sell them after some time and get new ones. Also seen a rhd postal subaru.

there was never a rhd dsm to begin with. they all are lhd. seeing as they were all made in the states.

False.
There are alot of Euro Spec 1G DSM's. Take alook. all are still LHD, but your whole they were only made in the states is false. If you look at several pictures carefully, you will see there are a considerable amount of differences bettween our US Spec DSM's and the E-DSM's.

1G Eclipse, Talon und Laser - Galerie

and also notice how many of E-DSM's are targa top....almost like it was a option over there? not saying it was its just...why so many E-DSM's have targa tops, but none of the US-DSM's doo?

RHD is illegal in the us?

False! I think it might be illeagle in certain states to convert your car to RHD unless for Government Services (such as mail delivery), but don't quote me on that.

I know of lots of RHD cars around here, Including a REAL Nissan Silvia, and Skyline R33, Imported cars have to pass certain inspection, on top of being taxed heavily (as in practically paying double the tag price). Right Hand drive conversion's have to go under inspection, other things because you that involves the VIN # plate, and moving that plate, or having a different one on there can get you in lots of trouble...and insurance reasons.

ALL T/E/Ls were made in normal, illinois. And given the characteristics appropriate there for where ever they were to be shipped; japan, europe, or local.
