Hey so today i was driving and my alternator belt snapped, so i drove the car for about 1/2 mile until i stopped at a near by AutoZone, picked up a new belt threw it on, but now im only reading 12v's at the battery, i checked with my datalogger, and then used a DMM and still the same 12.00v. Anyone have any idea, this happened on my 90 talon tsi

hmm... i dont see how the sensor would cause me to only get 12v. But LOCKE im going to do that a post the result soon

Pretty sure i found the problem, i used a dmm to check the alternator output and it was 14.15, and then i looked at the alternator fuse the 80A one, and its blown, can i get those at autozone or something or has to be dealer?

Get it anywhere.....

Good that you found the problem.

What I ment though for clearification was that maybe something was broke (the sensor) from being hit and making it read constant....It happens, dont know about these cars....But Ive seen it.
