So I decided to log my setup and also check the horsepower estimator, apparently I can make 1000hp on a 16g if you go towards the end of the log and see the pull. I was also wondering if anyone else could check out this log and check and see if it's running ok or what should I change.

Im not sure. I think it looks great aside from i cant see a WB. Your airflow/rev is high for stock cams. If they are 272s its perfect though. Very steady but you need to adjust deadtimes to get combined ft to near 0% at idle. Then follow the vid on dsmlink and get alot of closed loop pulls and idle in there to get some good mafcomp numbers. Your zeroed out on mafcomps so im guessing you havent done it yet.
uuuuh, lets see, i know im missing other things but you get the jist of it.
Your DA maxoct and timing tables are stock if im not mistaken, maybe you want to try to load the evo8 mod1 tables that are popular starting points.
Hell, im fighting weird link problems now but i DO know what it should look like LOL. GL bro

Yea they are stock cams I wish they would idle like that on 272's but vacuum is going to be fun on a auto trans. I have wideband but not yet wired into ecu. So you suggesting add some dead time in to get my combined ft to 0 right? For the mafcomp make a closed loop log and do the mafcomp estimater and dial in the dots?

Yup you got it. It should idle even smoother. Your barely getting knock but id bet your running extremely rich on WOT, robbing you of HP. Timing: same thing goes, you could add more timing in and get better performance. To an extent. Your on the right track it looks like.

So as removing fuel on the fuel slider from 4000-7000 rpm range is where it is showing 9:5 a/f is that where I would minus fuel from the fuel table or somewhere else, becuase it's all set to 0.

I would personally go into the Direct Access logs and change values in maxoct. BUUUUUT, you should really, really, log the wb before doing so. Ive noticed the afrest is usually reading leaner than the actual afr. It will try and target the cell in the table but if your wb and afrest dont line up correctly youll end up with an overly rich condition under boost or open loop conditions.
Im personally having some weird issues getting my idle dialed in. Its better now but my BISS screw is completely f'd. Anyway, now this is frowned upon, but i did a pull, logged it, then opened up my maxoct DA table and tracked it under boost. All the ones i saw running too rich on my actual wb i leaned out more and more til i hit some good numbers. Thats the shit way to do it and its a bandaid. Getting your airflow and mafcomps done should make afrest and wb line up but as stated above, u really gotta log the wb first.

edit: To your question: yes, you can pull fuel with sliders. It will only effect your open loop fuel though. Its an easier way than DA adjustments.

Ok I did some pulls and took some fuel out here is the latest log, definitely feels stronger now. I was not able to dial in the dead time it was not cooperating with me. It looks like the boost was creeping in the last pull at the end or the other thought increased due to leaning it out. Do I keep going to like 11:1 a/f ratio, or should I stay where I am at and watch out for that small knock?

Yea, best to hold off til you have a wb installed. Its saying 9.9:1 and your getting knock. Not sure whats up with that. Your running 16 to 19 degress timing when knock occurs. IAT's dont look too hot.... huh, time for someone who knows better than i to chime in. Reset fuel sliders for now. 2.8 degrees is too much on the knockret, atleast for me it is.
I still say, wait for the wb install so you can be 100% sure of your afrs.
If your combinedft at idle (warmed up) is positive just increase the deadtime by 50 usec increments. It will come down. It takes a second

I do have a wideband, showing 10:1 wot. I figured 2-3 knock is ok, it only happend after I leaned it out unless I need keep leaning it out.

Ok then,i cant see wb. Try to target 11.5:1 and do another couple pulls. Check knock. If there is none, u may lean it it out a hair more possibly or u can go ahead and add a degree or 2 of timing (da table timing m max oct). Test for knock again. Rinse repeat.

Dsm avenger: nice ride. U can turbo that but it'll cost alot and theres less support tuning wise. MSnS is the best for 420a's. L

I am not logging wideband to ecu just from the sensor on the downpipe to the gauge getting a 10:1 on the gauge. I have not got it wired in the ecu yet. So you think leaning it out would get rid of that knock in the last pull the only reason I 2nd guess leaning it out more is that I am at 10:1 now and the knocked showed up I don't wanna keep leaning it and get more knock witch doesn't make sence becuase I should be able to get 11:1 without issues. I will try it and see what happens.

I'm intrigued by all of this and wish that I had boost and/or knew what the heck you guys were talking about LOL. I'm in the Portland area also and would love to do a little DSM meetup.

Whenever it stops raining LOL.

no no no, i mis spoke. Im sorry. 11:1 or thereabouts is a good afr under boost on 93 oct. you got knock at 10:1. Soooooo, im not sure LOL. Go back to original settings and play around with timing and fuel. I cant believe no one else is weighing in on this! Its hard to get people to help with link problems around here, i know first hand. But i understand.
your DA(direct access) is at the bottom of the screen to the right next to ecuconfig live. Click that and a bunch of things will come up. Your only interested in maxoct fuel or something like that, and timingmaxoct. Im at work so i cant pull up link atm. Thats where the pros adjust everything, in those tables. Im surprised your knocking at 10:1 like that on stock timing. Ive done a few pulls with a much larger pte turbo at 15psi with more timing and around 11:1 with very minimal knock.

Just trying to get it dialed in before I go to the track tomorrow I might try stop at english racing today and get a couple pulls on the dyno. It is hard to get people to help out but it's all good not trying to push anyone to help I am just trying to learn. I am sure some small changes will make it go away. I will go make some more logs see if it changes.

Got my dead times dialed in I get about 1% combined fuel trim and .25 airflowperrev it was being a pain in the ass. I was unable to get any dyno time at all 3 shops I called, damn evo's hauging all shop and dyno time. Hope fully it's sunny tomorrow at the track. I don't plan on making any more logs tonight so we will see how my tune holds up.

How far is it leaning out from 5k up?

Looks from the logs REAL lean and not what you described at least... get that wideband logging as looking at a gauge is by no mean foolproof way of tuning... .

Also your on V3 Ecmlink no need to use sliders like Dsmlink that's what the DA maps are for once you get your airflow properly calibrated.

It's not leaning out at all holding 10:1 all the way to 7000 rpm. I am still a little shy touching the da table I need to look at it more and see how it works. Where do you see where it is lean? Maybe I am missing it or not knowing what I am looking for. Both my aem wideband and estimated a/f ratio in link are lining up at 10:1 at wot.

Youre gonna love the DA tables WAY more than the sliders. Just open a log, click direct access, click the openloopmaxoct tab (forget minoct, never need it) and click detach table and track datalog. You can see each cell light up as it attempts to get afrest to that particular afr in the table. Now in a perfect world your wb and afrest match perfect through redline in all gears. You dont have alot of mods so i think you can achieve that pretty easily. You can see that your target afr is 9.5:1 during that latest pull. Yet, your wb gauge in the car you say read 10:1. Thats awfully close btw. SO.. if you want 11:1 lets say, change those cells to around 11.5:1 and check your wb gauge. If knock is still an issue or getting worse then pull timing in the timingmaxoct(again, forget timingminoct). Those cells can be tracked exactly like the fuel cells. Its really brilliant. Thank you Tom Dorris(think thats his name) LOL.
Then, haul your ass down to st louis and help me get my idle dialed in LOL jk.

There are 2 pulls on the 2nd log at the end the first pull was 9.9:1 and the last was 10:1. I also don't know what the da table numbers on the left side stand for? Btw what size injectors are you running and are you on pump gas? So I guess I was able to get out and make some logs but it was utter fail. I tried adding fuel and taking fuel out, no matter what I did there would always be 3-5 knock at 5000+ range. I guess I am just making out the stock injectors on the 16g from my assumption. Here is the last log of the day I tried taking out alot of fuel and it didn't like it, granted it pulled like a beast but knock was not happy. Here are a couple logs.

I didnt even notice your on stock injectors. Shit. For some reason i cant open the log, its my computer i think, but ill try on my laptop later and tell you what i think. Ill try and post a log of a couple pulls in my car. Im running pte 1000cc injectors btw.

edit: I did open the first 2 logs. Definitely looks like your running out of fuel/injector there. 16lbs on a stock fuel system with a 16g?? Clipto..... you been around here. Whaaaattttyyaa doing brother! Im just fn with ya. Get wb logged so i can see whats up. Heres what DA tables look like and a good place to start(evo 8 mod 1):

Oh I know better LOL, I just forgot that I am not on my 550cc's anymore I had to trade em for 450cc at the time becuase my safc tune was messed up and I could not get them to dial in on ecmlink and idle right, it was my daily driver so I had to do what I had to do. So yea I was not realizing 100% what was going on eather. If the damn 16g would stop creaping I would be ok. I think it's time for some bigger injectors (FIC 1050cc) and to throw on this holset collecting dust.

you can stop boost creep pretty easily. Just pop the o2 housing off, port the living shit out of it( i leterally removed the divider i ported so much out) and possibly port the wg hole on the hot side. Also make sure the flapper opens a full 90 degrees with reference to the hole. They should be perpendicular.

I did see your at 98% duty cycle when you start getting knock, my guess is you are running out of fuel but i cant say for certain. with the stock timing DA map, i would think fuel IS the issue.

FICs are good from what i hear. I have a set of pte's: i strongly recommend NOT getting pte injectors. Not if you have a 2g anyway. They dont fit well at all and are a PITA overall.

I guess I am just not cut out for tuning I tried and tried the past few days but not working out. I hope I did not damage anything after working on those pulls. Now that I drive I get all this random crazy knock. I hope I didn't damage nothing I will swap sparkplugs and do a oil change but check this log out this is just cruising no building boost besides the fast spool of the 16g with a 14b hotside going up hills, I hope its something fixable let me know. I have also been getting check engine code p1400 manifold differential pressure. Crazy amount of knock at the end.

Something is wrong with link on my end. I cant open the last 2 you posted. I dont think you hurt anything, maybe your filter is getting clogged, injectors are missing, knock sensor is going bad etc...
You know like the rest of us, how these cars break constantly LOL. Im going to reinstall link and try to view the log later.
