Crashed Car....a Few Questions - Name That Part?

After taking off the bumper and fender I ran across some more smashed up stuff... its behind the drivers side front wheel...

No clue what it is, but doesnt look good. Also heres some more pics of the front view... any tips or suggestions on how to fixing the radiator core support, where the fender mounts, and where the headlight mounts and estimates of pricing on doing it manually versus the collision shops? I'm kinda stuck there.

oh, really?, well in that case i think i know what caused the accident!!!, i think that someone tossed a smashed up 2g abs unit out in front of your car, and you ran over it, causing it to get stuck in your driver side wheel well, locking up your driver side front tire, and causing you to skid. by any chance were you following another 2g closely???, although parts can fall off of any type or brand of car these particular models are known to be more prone to such incidents. you may want to print this out and take it to court or give it to your insurance company for any legal problems that you might encounter due to the accident.

Oh, well I thought I didn't have ABS, when I bought the car I was told I didn't have ABS so never really looked into it. Thanks though...also, opinions on the car, how much would a shop charge to fix the banged up stuff but not putting any of the body parts back on? Is it totalled? Opinions on what to do please

i suggest you make the pictures at least 3 times as large. It's hard to tell the damage with pictures that tiny. But it seems like the frame itself wasn't damaged, but it will be tricky to straighten things out so everything lines up correctly....

as for getting the headlight to line up i kno mitsu sells just that corner of the core support b/c i bought it when i wrecked my car on the passanger side... it took like 2 weeks to get it but they can get it if they want to ...most will try to sell whole support even if u dont need it... i just bought the corner and then took the top rail off a car at a junkyard....the corner piece is like the headlight bucket it goes from right beside the radiator to the corner of the car and it was like 35 dollars

What about the fender mount? How hard would it be to take it off another car and put it on?? And if i got the corner of the rad support, would it look okay?

unless you have experience with auto body repair, just take it to a shop. that way you know everything is done right and they can tell you if it's even worth fixing.

Well, thats why I was asking because I can't really afford to take it to a shop....so thats why I was asking, maybe someone with previous experience....does it look like I hit the unibody?


EDIT: Also, my grandpa used to own a collision shop, I was just tryin to get some idea of the difficulty because I would probally be doin most of the work but he would help and stuff. Thanks

What you need to do is just start trying to pull the fender support back too were it looks at least normal, then just hammer it were it needs to be and looks aligned then go on to the next step (getting new ABS unit / lines) then fender and some more tweaking too the body till your happy with it.
