I know, this game is dumb. But I've searched for the throttle body at least. The other object, well. I don't know what to call it to search for it.

Item #1. Throttle Body. I thought it was a 1g TB, but every 1g TB i've seen on this site has multiple vacuum lines coming off of it. Any idea what it came from?


Next item. I was cleaning up the engine bay a bit, and don't know what this is, what it's purpose is. I'm trying to decide if I can get rid of it.

It looks 100% like 1gTB, but someone welded shut the other three nipples. It is not NT TB. The NT TB's don't have this 4 bolt flange, it is just a straight pipe, that you can attach a silicon coupler to it. The second item, looks like electric horn.
 
I JB welded mine shut, a little silver paint and you'd never know they were ever there.. I have however seen various configurations as to how many ports they had, depending on what car they came off of.
 
Believe it or not its not welded its factory, my 92 Tsi has the same TB. I see that the ISC half the TB was deleted as well.
 
yup, it sure is a jdm throttle body, i have one sitting right next to me and it is identical, came off my jdm vr4 rs motor,
 
I was going through my parts and cam across a turbo TB but I cant remember what it came off of. It's definitely a 1g turbo but I can't seem to find it on DSM THrottle Bodys or in the search at all. The inlet measures 61mm and tapers down to 60mm. Automatic maybe? Here are the pics:

It is a non turbo but not the same one that had the extension at the inlet. It's missing some vaccume port nipples.
 
So it's a JDM unit? No clue where I would have got it from.I was thinking about using it on my 90 after I get the TPS pigtail. I don't have any vacuum line connected to my 90 TB now so I could just swap this over?(after the wiring of course) I've already got a seal kit coming I was gonna use on my N/T TB but i may just use this one now.
 
As long as your sensor plugs match up and work properly then use which ever IMO. If you don't need the vaccume lines, then use the one with less and have a less chance of leaks
 
Some people just sell them as 1g units and don't think anything of it. I've bought a few like that.

Well, what seals did you order for your N/T? Regular tb seals won't work on the N/T as the seal depths are shallower, so they should work great on this tb.

You could get really fancy and remove the nipple in there and have the hole welded shut so you don't have to use a vacuum cap, like my brother and I did.

I ordered the turbo seals. I know the N/T ones are shallower. I was gonna have the TB machined to fit the newer seals but won't bother now. I just want to update from my 90 TB. It's got 194,*** miles on it and the shaft seals are nearly impossible to find for the 90 TB's. It's seriously driving me crazy trying to remember where I got this part. I should go threw my parts storage more often.
