Yesterday while out driving my engine wouldn't boost that well. I finally pulled over and there was knocking coming from the engine.
My mechanic friend says it's probably a rod bearing. I used a search and read that if it's a rod bearing, revving the motor causes the boost to increase due to putting load on the engine. Is this true? I tried it this morning and it stayed in vacuum. Also, the oil pressure doesn't change much when the rpms go up. The amount of oil in the engine is right where it should be. Does this indicate anything? Is there anything that I can check before I take this down to satan and blow $2k? Thanks for any help guys.
